We all understand that the cause of all wars without exception in the history of mankind is the economy.
And judging by the way events are developing, or rather judging by the speed of these events, we are on the verge of a big war.
The only way to avoid a world war is to change the social political system in key countries of the world such as Russia, the United States, the key EU countries ...

I think it's more likely Vlad is trying to distract the world from all the wealth he and his chosen few have extracted from his grip on Russia.

We have no idea if Vlad is doing a Reagan. Did we all forget about Reagan's Star Wars program?

West Point teaches there are ten causes of war. Economics is one. Race is another. Nationalism is another. Religion is another... I forget the rest. But your conclusion is correct. If we can eradicate socialism in Russia, the USA, and key EU countries, we will be well on the way to a lasting peace.

Reagan's Star Wars program was a key element in the dissolution of the Soviet Union. Once the efficacy of programs like ABL (Airborne Laser) and "Magic Pebbles" were established, the Soviet dream of defeating the west started to deteriorate.

Agreed. Until we remove socialism from the political systems of Russia, the United States, China, and key EU countries, war will loom.

USA hypocrisy is getting tiresome. Is there anything bad the USA accuses others of that it doesn't do itself?

Videotape beheadings? Blame victims for their rape and stone them to death? Hijack airplanes? Fly commercial airliners into city skyscrapers?

If you remember history, then often people reassured themselves with various pretexts. For example, remember the reason for the outbreak of the 1st World War, or you can recall the Munich Agreement. But I thank you for your opinion.

I can argue with the West Point teachers about the reasons for the war. More precisely, I want to say that such concepts as religion, race, nationalism are only a pretext for war, but the reason is always unchanged - and this is the economy.
Today, the economy of the whole world, including the United States, Russia and the EU countries, is flying into the abyss. In other words, today is the time to start a world war.

I should have said other states.

USA freaks out over accusations that Russia interfered in its elections.... USA do that? Check.
USA concerned over China projecting power in the south china sea.... USA do that? Check.
USA worries about Putin and missiles. USA threatening people will missile? Check.
USA concerned about putting Chinese Uygurs into concentration camps. USA done concentration camps? Check.
USA complains about human rights violations and torture... USA do that? Check.
And on and on it goes.

    Never ending hypocrisy.

Uhm... Brainiac? The Munich Agreement was between Hitler and the UK Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain, signed in September 1938. It was the precursor of Hitler's invasion of Poland in September 1939. That's World WAR TWO... TWO... not One, Einstein. The First World War began with the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand in Serajevo in June 1914. Got it whiz kid?

Who did the USA threaten with missiles. We have them, sure. But threaten somebody? Heck... I have a gun... never threatened anyone.

We did camps with the Japanese a lifetime ago. We lered our lesson.. let's try to stay current.

Can you be specific about human rights violations and torture by the USA?

You have proof we interfered in Russian elections? I mean PROOF...

Different wars have different reasons but economics is usually in the mix. One exception that comes to mind is Bosnia which was at least "mostly" racial and religious. But I generally agree with you. The term "Gathering Storm" coined by Winston Churchill to describe the period just prior to WWII, seems applicable again today.

Your attempts at CYA are impressive. You may make a good liberal operative someday.
BTW, just as Munich was the flashpoint for WWII (Hitler saw Chamberlain's submissive attitude), Biden's wholesale retreat from Afghanistan provides an almost identical flashpoint for elements of WWIII... be it China invading Taiwan, Russia extending its hold in the Arab world or some direct attack against the USA.

"Gathering storm" - this term is very suitable today.
But, this is my opinion, from the point of view of what is happening, the situation is more reminiscent of the conditions for the outbreak of the 1st World War. As the American writer and historian Barbara Tuckman said in the book "The Guns of August" - "Nobody wanted war, war was inevitable."

I view WWI as something the world stumbled into, while Hitler and Tojo PLANNED. China has been planning to invade Taiwan for years. They would be foolish to pass up the opportunity Biden gives them. Russia, Iran, North Korea, et al? Well... we'll see...
