“Russia, if you’re listening, I hope you’re able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing,” Trump said in July 2016 referring to emails Mrs. Clinton had deleted from the private account she had used when she was secretary of state. “I think you will probably be rewarded mightily by our press.”

July 16, 2018, in Helsinki, Trump, in a stunning rebuke of the US intelligence community, declined to endorse the US government's assessment that Russia interfered in the 2016 presidential election, saying he doesn't "see any reason why" Russia would be responsible. Instead, Trump -- standing alongside Russian President Vladimir Putin -- touted Putin's vigorous denial.

"I have great confidence in my intelligence people, but I will tell you that President Putin was extremely strong and powerful in his denial today," Trump said during a joint news conference

Trump is in the process of weakening NATO, an alliance formed as a bulwark to Russian aggression. The allied leaders of Britain, France, and Germany no longer trust him. Trump camp finds no appeasement at Munich - POLITICO

Trump's Iranian policy has caused Iran to resume her nuclear research, and America's menacing enemy is closer to a nuke than ever.

The U.S. has been tossed out of Middle East talks because of Trump's pro-active pro-Israeli policy, replaced by Russia. The Arab republicans and our European allies cannot trust the U.S. as long as Trump is President. As U.S. Exits Syria, Mideast Faces a Post-American Era - The New York Times

Following Trump's Senate impeachment trial, the U.S. government is in chaos. Trump is pardoning felons while firing a White House staffer nearly every other day. Employment status in the Trump government is a daily challenge.

If you are Vladimir Putin, what is not to like?

The Times reports, "Intelligence officials warned House lawmakers last week that Russia was interfering in the 2020 campaign to try to get President Trump re-elected, five people familiar with the matter said, a disclosure to Congress that angered Mr. Trump, who complained that Democrats would use it against him.

"The day after the Feb. 13 briefing to lawmakers, Mr. Trump berated Joseph Maguire, the outgoing acting director of national intelligence, for allowing it to take place, people familiar with the exchange said. Mr. Trump cited the presence in the briefing of Representative Adam B. Schiff, the California Democrat who led the impeachment proceedings against him, as a particular irritant."

Apparently, Trump wanted to keep secret from the American people and its representatives the fact that Putin wants to help him get elected just as Putin did in 2016.

Some intelligence officials wanted the briefer to soften the message. However, "that intelligence official, Shelby Pierson, an aide to Mr. Maguire who has a reputation of delivering intelligence in somewhat blunt terms. The president announced on Wednesday that he was replacing Mr. Maguire with Richard Grenell, the ambassador to Germany and long an aggressively vocal Trump supporter," according to the Times.

Which, of course, is true to form. Replace an experienced professional with a political hack, a sycophant who thinks like Trump and will always do as he is told. This, of course, weakens the American government a little bit more.

That is another thing Putin likes about Trump.

    Trump is unleashed!

For four more years Trump could be the most powerful man on the planet. Already he ignores the American people. Answering only to Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, and "Fox and Friends," he cancelled regular press conferences and is scared to death of the White House press corps. Trump refuses to answer to the American people and now we can add Congress to the list. He will simply ignore what our representatives in Congress, and he has hijacked the power of the purse, all due to a complicit Senate led by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell. A recent vote in the Senate gave Trump the power to wage war.

If reelected, he will rule with complete impunity for four more years (or more). That is the power the Senate gave him, and why? Because they are afraid of Trump's base.

The irony is, the GOP has already lost several key elections in 2018 and 2019 because of Trump, including control of the House.

The irony is, his base will not like what will happen. They don't want it to happen.

But they enabled it! The real Pandora's Box. Be careful what you wish for!

If Putin can get Trump re-elected then that makes me like Putin. But the media is saying Putin is helping Bernie -- and Bernie is now the front runner. Did Putin change horses in the middle of the stream?

Fox News, euphemistically called the Trump Network, lies continuously in support of Trump. Watching the noon news with Bill Hemmer, there was a video of Trump saying at a Nevada campaign rally Friday that Democrats are trying to start a “rumor” about Russia interfering in the 2020 presidential election on his behalf, calling them “sick” and “crazy.”

Trump was lying. It was not a rumor. It was a threat assessment provided by the Trump government. It was presented by Trump appointee, DNI Joseph McQuire, not the Democrats. Hemmer smiling, self- assured countenance appeared and he said nothing about Trump's multiple lies. Trump fans listening were left with the impression Trump was telling the truth. That it was all a Democratic ruse.

During the news hour, White House correspondent, john Roberts, talked about the fact that Russia was interfering in our Presidential election on Trump's behalf again. Roberts reported that White House officials are tired of the accusation that Russia swayed the 2016 election in Trump's favor. No responsible person, not a reporter, not a Democratic lawmaker, not a responsible Trump critic, is saying that. What many are saying is what our intelligence was telling us at the time. Russia interfered in our 2016 election on Trump's behalf. No responsible source has been able to assess the effectiveness of the Russian interference.

The smiling Hemmer didn't correct that lie, either.

There is little wonder why Trump's fans stay loyal. Like Fox News, they, too, avoid reality and Fox helps them.

Now Fox is passing along a tall tale that the Director of National Intelligence got it all wrong. That Russia is not interfering in our 2020 election on Trump's behalf. Fox is saying a Trump stooge in the White House has said there is no evidence of this.

In other words, Fox and the White House wants our intelligence agencies to reveal the evidence, reveal sources and methods. The White House did the same thing during the investigation of Russian interference in 2016 on Trump's behalf.

    Whose side are they on?

Trump was talking about a rumor being started that Russia was backing him for President. People have to be out of their mind to think Russia wants Trump elected again. Sure they wanted him the first time, they were afraid Hillary was going to drag them into a war by putting up a no fly zone over Syria. Her own General told her not to do it that it could lead to war, along with a Russian Allie. Hillary didn't think so even after Russia brought in an aircraft carrier and ground to air missiles. It didn't come off because Obama wouldn't go along with her. But Russia wanted no part of Hillary. Trump looked good to them. He talked of pulling out of Syria and allowing Assad to stay under certain conditions. They thought they could do with him like they did with Obama, but soon found out different after Trump got elected. He was nothing like Obama and they had no idea how he would act under certain conditions. They felt he could go off at any time. Besides, Bernie was more like them, he thinks like they do. If they said they wanted Trump again, (which I doubt) they knew it would hurt him much more than help him. Who in their right mind is going to vote for Trump because our enemy wants him? That's stupid to even think so.

Robert O'Brien is a lawyer who has very little experience in foreign affairs. The closest he comes is his nomination by President George W. Bush as the U.S. Alternate Representative to the 60th session of the United Nations General Assembly during 2005–06. He addressed the General Assembly on the question of Palestine. O'Brien has no experience in the intelligence field.

So, logically, Trump appointed him his National Security Advisor when Bolton was fired over the Ukraine matter.

So, naturally, the Trump appointee categorically denied reports that Russia has been interfering in the 2020 election in support of Trump’s reelection campaign. Thus refuting reports by Trump's Director of National Intelligence who also was fired by Trump soon after making the report.

O’Brien promoted reports that Russia is meddling in the 2020 Democratic primary on behalf of Sen. Bernie Sanders.

“I haven’t seen any intelligence that Russia is doing anything to attempt to get President Trump reelected,” O'Brien said. Having no experience in intelligence, he is probably telling the truth while misrepresenting reality.

He didn't say there was no evidence of Russian meddling to help Trump. He said he hasn't seen any. There is a huge difference.

And now we have a NSA who is involving himself in domestic politics. That is a far cry from what he should be doing. The National Security Advisor should concern himself with the nation's security.

But then, O'Brien is just another political hack who was chosen because of his loyalty to Trump.

So? Is this something that is unusual with any POTUS? When JFK appointed his younger brother Robert as U.S. Attorney General and was questioned why he picked such a young inexperienced person, JFK replied, "He has to get some experience somewhere."

"I have great confidence in my intelligence people, but I will tell you that President Putin was extremely strong and powerful in his denial today," Trump said during a joint news conference

“I would like you to do us a favor, though. There's a lot of.talk about Biden's son, that Biden stopped the prosecution and a lot of people want to find out about that so whatever you can do with the Attorney General would be great. Biden went around bragging that he stopped the prosecution so if you ·can look into it ... It sounds horrible to me," President Donald J. Trump.

This is what happens when the President of the United States invites foreign interference in our Presidential election.

"Intelligence officials warned House lawmakers last week that Russia was interfering in the 2020 campaign to try to get President Trump re-elected, a disclosure to Congress that angered Mr. Trump, who complained that Democrats would use it against him," the New York Times.

The Post reports, "U.S. officials have told Sen. Bernie Sanders that Russia is attempting to help his presidential campaign as part of an effort to interfere with the Democratic contest, according to people familiar with the matter."

Putin wants the socialist, Bernie Sanders, to become the Democratic candidate, obviously because a socialist would be easy to beat. Most polls show that around 65 to 70% of Americans would not vote for a socialist.

    Thank you, Mr. President.

    Thank you, Senators.

    Gee, thank you both.

The New York Post reports, "President Trump on Sunday accused Rep. Adam Schiff of leaking intelligence that Russia is trying to interfere in the 2020 presidential election to help Bernie Sanders.

“They ought to investigate Adam Schiff for leaking that intelligence,” the president told reporters, adding that he hadn’t been briefed on any Russian meddling on Sanders’ behalf." :roflol:

In other words, Trump didn't want the American people to know about the threat posed by Russia to our Presidential election.

In other words, Trump is placing the blame on Schiff for Russia's threat to our Presidential election.

Trump is an embarrassment to our entire country.

~ And we have Adam Schiff making excuses for his "evidence" ...
“You can see evidence in plain sight on the issue of collusion, pretty compelling evidence,” Schiff said, later adding: “There is a difference between seeing evidence of collusion and being able to prove a criminal conspiracy beyond a reasonable doubt.”

He was kidding about if your listening.

The news reporters put Trump in position to say he believed Russia didn't try and influence our elections. He knew better. What was he to do with Putin sitting right next to him after Putin denied it, call him a liar to his face? At the time Trump was trying to play nice with Putin. He needed his and China's help to enforce sanctions on N. Korea to get them to give up their nuclear weapons. Calling him a liar to his face would do nothing to accomplish that.

Come on Sandy you and I both know both sides try to influence elections. It's no secrets. Hell we spend half our time doing it in Central and South America. Obama tried to do it a couple of years ago against Israel. He also helped cause the over throw of Egypt's Mubarak.

Certain people wake up every morning wanting something to carp about, and it's usually to do with people they don't like. Mostly it's an acquired skill but sometimes I think leftist are born that way.
