As if there weren't enough historical parallels in play right now, it turns out Putin is channeling the spirit of Nicolas II. This freak Aleksandr Dugin appears to be one of Putin's "spiritual advisors" closely counseling and influencing the Russian madman's decisions. The modern day Hitler, avowedly a member of the Russian Orthodox Church, has surrounded himself with "shamans" to advise him on things like invading neighboring countries.

One can only hope he meets the same end as Nicolas II.

I, for one, would not be okay with him being assassinated and the question remains open for decades.

Further, Nicholas II was eventually canonized. Do you think that's a just ending for Putin?

    Whats ur source?

I ask because a breif search of this Aleksandr Dugin returns results ranging from accusations of 'anti-science nationalist' to 'anti-white globalist'... which just means his views are unpopular on both sides of the mainstream political aisles, and little surfaces suggesting he has much if any influence over Putin.

But that was just a quick search. Tell us more...

Indeed, all forecast, back in 2014. Or, rather, pushed for:

    [snip]

A prominent Russian ultra-nationalist philosopher has told BBC News that war between Russia and Ukraine "is inevitable" and has called on President Vladimir Putin to intervene militarily in eastern Ukraine "to save Russia's moral authority".

Alexander Dugin is the founder of Russia's Eurasian movement. His views are believed to be popular among the hawkish Russian elite. Until recently, he was also a professor at Moscow State University, but he says his current status with the university is unclear.

His views have not changed, he says, but attitudes towards his views among those in power may be shifting.

The centrepiece of his geopolitical theory is that Russia's mission is to challenge US domination of the world, with the help of Iran, as well as Eurosceptic* parties, which are currently on the rise in Europe.

He has been labelled the brains behind President Putin's wildly popular annexation of Crimea.

The next step, he proclaims, is military intervention in eastern Ukraine, which he regularly calls Novorossiya (New Russia). It is a name that has also been used by President Putin.

    * Eurosceptic is the the British spelling of Euroskeptic, which means a person opposed to the increasing of the power of the European Union (so that would include nationalist "Brexit" - type groups).

Also see my previous post (#6), to @unkotare . Here is some more basic info on Durgin, which I just added to an existing thread of my own, Is Putin Sane? (Political Opinions).
