The Queen strips Prince Andrew of ALL his military titles, his royal patronages and his use of HRH and says he will have to face sexual assault lawsuit as a 'private citizen'

Prince Andrew was today stripped of his military titles and royal patronages by the Queen, who said he will have to face his sexual assault lawsuit as a 'private citizen'. The Duke of York will no longer be allowed to use the styling 'HRH' in any capacity, signalling the royal family's attempt to distance itself from the ninth in line to the throne as he faces a humiliating trial in the US.

So looks like the Queen has decided the publicity surrounding this scandal may be too poisonous, and has decided to eject him to protect the Royal family.

Let's keep in mind that, traditionally, in the old days, like the 1950s, a member of the royal family would not have had to commit a sexual assault for this to happen. Even a normal sexual scandal would be enough to take all their titles away. Remember, Edward VIII was forced to abdicate (1936) because he wanted to marry a woman who had previously been divorced (her husband was still alive).

The fact that Andrew is having his titles taken away from him is not necessarily any indication that he committed sexual assault or anything like that; the fact that he merely had a sexual affair is adequate reason.
At the very least, the girl who claims to have had sex with him was a prostitute. For the Royal Family, especially someone who grew up during the time Queen Elizabeth grew up (1926), that is very scandalous. Royals get held to a much higher standard and are expected to set an example for the nation.

I suspect in confidence he obeyed the Queen and confessed to her pretty much everything or she wouldn't have taken such drastic steps against him. That's a long way to fall.

I would imagine the Queen was told what was going to happening in order to distance the crown from him....she probably agreed and said "meh...chuck the motherphucker under the nearest red bus" ...only a tad more politely
