    You would be surprised how much it can costs.

    1; All the workers have to be paid prevailing wages, since it was for the government, which can be expensive.

    2; The article said this was a brand new crosswalk, not just repainting, which means they would have had to put up lights, signs, etc, which again, can be expensive

    3; The companies that get contracts for this type of work tend to be pieces of **** who milk jobs for more money. I bet that crosswalk took about 3 months to finish. $100,000+ sounds about right to me.
