The Beer I consume rates 3.67 / 5 and it is definitely not pisswater.

    https://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/35/102/?ba=bros

Say, what does that taste like? Should it first be chilled?

I decided 2 cases ago to try Samuel Adams Octoberfest. I had gone to Costco to pick up a case of Sierra Nevada Pale Ale when the story was empty of that stock. So I grabbed a case of 28 beers for about $24. I prefer Sierra Nevada but this will do when the store is out of Sierra Nevada.

Note it has 4 extra bottles. Why not drink that bargain.

I was saying that to the other poster, Sam Adams Octoberfest is decent There are better Marzen style offerings out there... try Sierra Nevada's 2018 version.

I imagine there are situations where I would drink a warm beer, but it hasn't happened, yet. Blech.

Well, unfortunately in America "warm" means anything other than near frozen when it comes to beer.
That is because America's corporate "beer for the masses" is anything but good quality beer.
They have replaced more expensive barley, which is the base grain for many variations of beer, with corn and rice. And of course more water.
American macro beer MUST be ice cold to drink otherwise you taste it. And what you taste is a grossly out of balance recipe using cheap ingredients that produce the alcohol but have twangy/bitter flavor.

Meh - I feel the same way about Guinness. I just don't like warm beer. Same with soda, lemonade, iced tea.... unless it's specifically a hot beverage, it has to be CCCCold....

(I'll exclude water - room temp water is fine if ice cold isn't available.)

Guiness is an average stout at best. There are many better options. Many.
I make a better stout than Guiness, many people do

Friend there are way too many styles out there to know that answer. It would be no different than to tell a person who has only eaten unflavored ice milk what flavor of ice cream they would like.
I would encourage you to go to a brew pub and get a flight of beers (4-5 small glasses of different ones they brew)
Beer is by far the most varied libation on the planet, including wine. Americans just don't know because all they have had is one kind, that happens to be an exceptionally bad example of the drink.
I am 100% confident you would find a beer.... you actually like the taste of. And not one that is served so cold, and is so thin that it can't make up it's mind if is water trying to be beer, or beer trying to be water.

Well, thank you for the education. Lol.... I'm fairly well versed in micro-breweries. We have several where I live. My brother has been brewing his own beer for almost 20 years, and it's delicious. I actually prefer the beer from the local breweries to anything in the store. But..... I only drink any of them cold. Warm beer is disgusting.

    I''ll take the challenge.
Have you tried Old Rasputin? It is a Russian Imperial Stout made by North Coast Brewing, California.
9% ALC, it is a heavy-heavy beer. A sipper, not a guzzler. It taste a little bitter at refrigerator temp (mid 30's)...but get's much better as it warms just a bit in the mid 40's. The sweetness and toffee flavor comes out then, ice cold you won't taste that...ice cold it will taste more like cold coffee than beer.
As it gets a little warmer, high 40's to low 50's...no longer cold...just cool...it get's creamy. The sweetness really comes out as well as dark fruit flavors like raisins, molasses. You won't taste any of that ice cold.

I never drank a warm beer until the situation was that there was zero possibility of getting anything else except warm water buffalo piss.

Been to Britain many times and its not "warm" beer, its room temperature beer and despite the idea being weird (who doesn't like a cold one?) it ain't half bad.

That old saw "there is no bad beer, only better beer" is my motto.

What about something like a pressure cooker, but cold? Probably no quicker than spinning.
No substitute for just planning ahead. My fridge resembles the beginning of this video, just keep er well stocked! An all time great!

Mythbusters did an episode on chilling beer.

My freezer is super cold at home -32c (Good old Miele) and I can chill a 0.5l to ice cold in about 20 minutes in my freezer I find putting a bag of peas on top the can whilst in the freezer shaves a couple of minutes off. The amount of cans I've froze is unreal lol, it ALWAYS kills the beer when you've froze it.

had a few blow up on me. Messy sludge all over the damn freezer.

Pretty well every beer is better than a frozen one. :)

Yes I did notice that euro cans are more substantial than north american ones. Far easier to crush against your forehead.

In Lithuania the cans were built like old schools cans you could throw at a wall but they have 10c deposit on every can. With can return machines at every supermarket over a certain size which issued you a voucher to spend in the supermarket.

It was actually a very efficient system due to centralising the recycling and incentivised for the store with the voucher being store specific.

The main reason why the paper towel method works so well is first, cheap, next quick, 3rd works in both refrigerator and freezer.

All it is to begin with is a tip to be drinking a cool beer a bit faster. I keep my refrigerator just above freezing. My freezer of course is below freezing. I actually buy beer by the case. I will pull out some of the bottles and stick them in the refrigerator. When I get cans, less often, I put those in the refrigerator too. Normally I am not that much in a hurry. Why bottles? Sierra Nevada only is in the bottle and so is this current round of buying at Costco, the Samuel Adams. I had not tried it. I like Sierra Nevada over Samuel Adams. Adams is a bit more watery than is Sierra Nevada. Sierra Nevada used to be only made in CA but now have a Brewery in an Eastern State. Mills River North Carolina.

If you have not had Sierra Nevada, try it. It is not priced to bust your budget. And make no mistake, the beer is awesome. If you can get it, Anchor Steam Brew, made here in CA is also good. Also won't set you back the cost of a new motorcycle. I have drank Anchor Steam brew since around 1959 once I turned 21. In the SF Area, you could locate it in a lot of the bars.

It seems to me you are mangling language. Soft drinks and beer are "cold" drinks because that is how they are intended to be served. Not because of their current temperature. If you leave your ice tea on the patio, you may find it to be 85°. But it is still ice tea. Just needs more ice. When you walk by the Coke stored at room temperature do you ask your spouse if you need some warm drinks for the 4th of July picnic? Likewise, your hot cocoa may need a trip to the microwave when it gets cold. English is nuanced and not everything is said or written literally.

Sierra Nevada Oktoberfest is very good. Most Oktoberfests are Marzens, but Sierra Nevada is unique.
