Tlaib represents what is wrong with demorat politicians.

They sure are about comments such as "p. oo .sy", referring to blacks and Hispanics are being total 'sh!t hole", and allegedly stating that "blacks were too stupid" to vote for him.

Being shot at creates bigotry. So does deliberately murdering children, including your own. Supporting terrorist groups who want to destroy you, your neighbors and your country might also contribute.

Perhaps you've just discovered the possible source of their bigotry.

    sure - it is here:

Albert Einstein's 1948 letter to the New York Times

If we want to understand the real history of the Israeli/Palestinian conflict, we can turn to a trustworthy Jewish source: Albert Einstein. Einstein was a humanitarian and peace activist, in addition to being one of the greatest scientists of all time. What did this extremely intelligent, wonderfully wise and warmly humane Jew have to say about Israel's treatment of Palestinians? In a landmark open letter to the New York Times in 1948, Einstein clearly and candidly explained why Israel's militant Zionist leaders were not to be trusted and did not deserve money or support from Americans. (You can find scanned images of the Einstein letter online, and because it appeared in a major American newspaper its authenticity is not in doubt.) The letter was also signed by Hannah Arendt, Sidney Hook and more than 20 other Jewish intellectuals who wanted to alert Americans and the larger world to the dangers of emergent racism, fascism, terrorism and religious fanaticism in the newly-formed state of Israel. They also foresaw andpredicted the disastrous results we see today in Israel/Palestine. I have annotated the letter with [bracketed comments] to help readers better understand how the "Einstein Letter" relates to the present situation. Other prominent, world-esteemed Jews have strongly opposed the policies and methods of the militant Zionists, including Sigmund Freud, Franz Kafka, Isaac Asimov, Erich Fromm and Noam Chomsky. They have been joined by icons of peace like Mohandas Gandhi, Nelson Mandela, Desmond Tutu and Jimmy Carter.—Michael R. Burch, an editor and publisher of Holocaust and Nakba poetry

Christians may want to consider the ethical questions What does the Bible say? What would Jesus do?

Please note that Menachem Begin, discussed in the letter, was a future prime minister of Israel. He was a racist, a fascist and the preeminent terrorist in the Middle East, murdering Arabs, Jews and Englishmen. What sort of nation elects a fascist terrorist to its highest office?

from Letters to the New York Times
    December 4, 1948

    New Palestine Party
Visit of Menachem Begin and Aims of Political Movement Discussed

TO THE EDITORS OF THE NEW YORK TIMES:

Among the most disturbing political phenomena of our times is the emergence in the newly created state of Israel of the "Freedom Party" (Tnuat Haherut), a political party closely akin in its organization, methods, political philosophy and social appeal to the Nazi and Fascist parties. It was formed out of the membership and following of the former Irgun Zvai Leumi, a terrorist, right-wing, chauvinist organization in Palestine.

The current visit of Menachem Begin, leader of this party, to the United States is obviously calculated to give the impression of American support for his party in the coming Israeli elections, and to cement political ties with conservative Zionist elements in the United States. Several Americans of national repute have lent their names to welcome his visit. It is inconceivable that those who oppose fascism throughout the world, if correctly informed as to Mr. Begin's political record and perspectives, could add their names and support to the movement he represents. [See Note A]

Before irreparable damage is done by way of financial contributions, public manifestations in Begin's behalf, and the creation in Palestine of the impression that a large segment of America supports Fascist elements in Israel, the American public must be informed as to the record and objectives of Mr. Begin and his movement. [See Note B]

The public avowals of Begin's party are no guide whatever to its actual character. Today they speak of freedom, democracy and anti-imperialism, whereas until recently they openly preached the doctrine of the Fascist state. It is in its actions that the terrorist party betrays its real character; from its past actions we can judge what it may be expected to do in the future. [See Note C]

    Attack on Arab Village

A shocking example was their behavior in the Arab village of Deir Yassin. This village, off the main roads and surrounded by Jewish lands, had taken no part in the war, and had even fought off Arab bands who wanted to use the village as their base. On April 9 (THE NEW YORK TIMES), terrorist bands attacked this peaceful village, which was not a military objective in the fighting, killed most of its inhabitants "240 men, women, and children" and kept a few of them alive to parade as captives through the streets of Jerusalem. Most of the Jewish community was horrified at the deed, and the Jewish Agency sent a telegram of apology to King Abdullah of Trans-Jordan. But the terrorists, far from being ashamed of their act, were proud of this massacre, publicized it widely, and invited all the foreign correspondents present in the country to view the heaped corpses and the general havoc at Deir Yassin.

The Deir Yassin incident exemplifies the character and actions of the Freedom Party.

Within the Jewish community they have preached an admixture of ultranationalism, religious mysticism, and racial superiority. Like other Fascist parties they have been used to break strikes, and have themselves pressed for the destruction of free trade unions. In their stead they have proposed corporate unions on the Italian Fascist model.

During the last years of sporadic anti-British violence, the IZL and Stern groups inaugurated a reign of terror in the Palestine Jewish community.
Teachers were beaten up for speaking against them, adults were shot for not letting their children join them. By gangster methods, beatings, window-smashing, and wide-spread robberies, the terrorists intimidated the population and exacted a heavy tribute.

The people of the Freedom Party have had no part in the constructive achievements in Palestine. They have reclaimed no land, built no settlements, and only detracted from the Jewish defense activity. Their much-publicized immigration endeavors were minute, and devoted mainly to bringing in Fascist compatriots.

    Discrepancies Seen

The discrepancies between the bold claims now being made by Begin and his party, and their record of past performance in Palestine bear the imprint of no ordinary political party. This is the unmistakable stamp of a Fascist party for whom terrorism (against Jews, Arabs, and British alike), and misrepresentation are means, and a "Leader State" is the goal.

In the light of the foregoing considerations, it is imperative that the truth about Mr. Begin and his movement be made known in this country. It is all the more tragic that the top leadership of American Zionism has refused to campaign against Begin's efforts, or even to expose to its own constituents the dangers to Israel from support to Begin.

The undersigned therefore take this means of publicly presenting a few salient facts concerning Begin and his party; and of urging all concerned not to support this latest manifestation of fascism.

I disagree America is “winning”, we are being left out of trade deals that will impact us for decades, we are rolling back environmental regulations in exchange for corporate profits, our representatives are literally being laughed at at world summits. Our educational attainment and proficiency is continuing to drop as is our healthcare standards while prices skyrocket. We are alienating our allies and they may not forget as quickly as we seem to from election cycle to the next. And his rhetoric, lies and blatant corruption — they are just overboard from someone that is in his position and it’s not only accepted it is applauded by his base.

In the end I don’t wish trump to fail, his success is America’s success.
I just feel he is riding a train that is about to run out of steam. I hope I’m wrong.

I think it is a bit of a stretch to say Democrats can always count on the Jewish vote. Any democrat party criticism of Israel that I have seen seems to be rather recent. Now if you were to say they can always count on the younger Jewish vote this is probably a more true statement to some degree. In the past the Democrats have been supportive of Israel.

I don't think AIPACs leverage is in delivering votes per se. Rather their leverage is in delivering money. A good lobbying group is non partisan.

But, but, we'd been told that it was only Right-wingers who were 'deplorables', and only those on the Right who made spectacles out of themselves like she did. This kind of blathering nonsense isn't helping ANY of us, Mr. Truth....

Reality is making satire more difficult, by the day. Is Farrakhan deplatformed, yet? Jews are eating the framing of my house...oh wait...that's just termites.

(For those who may have missed it, Farrakhan recently called Jews "termites" on social media)

Justifying it by pointing out something Trump did is not the adult in the room.
But it was always a pretense anyway

They said they would start accepting imports of rice, they haven’t purchased any. They also import 5 million tonnes. Rice makes up only a small portion of U.S. agricultural exports though.

While that’s good and highlights warming trade relations, I don’t see what it has to do with the larger picture or anything I posted as most analysts have said it will be minuscule.

    I guess it’s a cute meme though.
Those do seem to keep his base entertained

I don't care-once they do that they cross a line.

Just as when they shoot up schools, tourist buses, pizza shops, and then hide inside hospitals.

Thats not the point. It was a success in Trumps trade tactics. What he's doing is working.

China's economy is brittle at this point, for various reasons.

    Ours is dramatically stronger.

Liberal words often bite them in their progressive butts. Look at the word tolerant. That was a word liberals couldn’t go five minutes without saying, but once it was shown libs are the least tolerant people on the planet that word disappeared.
