Rasmussen Poll: 50 Percent Support SCOTUS Abortion Ruling

    …The poll, released Tuesday, found that 50% of the people approve of the court's decision last week to overturn the federal right to abortion granted under the almost 50-year-old Roe v. Wade decision, and send the issue back to the individual states to decide, including 38% who "strongly approve" of the court's ruling.

    Just under half — 45% — of those surveyed disapproved of the decision, including 38% who "strongly disapproved," according to the poll.

    The court issued its 6-3 opinion on Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health last Friday that overturned the Roe decision and 1992's Casey case that determined that a woman seeking an abortion could be required to give her "informed consent" before the procedure, saying that abortion is not a right granted in the Constitution, and that federal government "has no authority" in the matter, which should be regulated by the states.

    "We do not pretend to know how our political system or society will respond to today's decision overruling Roe and Casey," Justice Samuel Alito wrote for the majority. "And even if we could foresee what will happen, we would have no authority to let that knowledge influence our decision….

    his is good news! Leaving abortion to the states is not as unpopular as the pro aborts would have us believe. The only people who rate abortion as a top issue are those most progressive who were never going to vote our way anyway.

    SCOTUS: States rights are a thing, the Constitution says so.

    The majority of states: We'll regulate abortion as we see fit.

    Super-minority of states: We're not going to allow abortion.

    Leftists: ABORTIONS ARE BANNED EVERYWHERE, YOURE MAKING US USE COAT HANGERS AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!

    I still say that it would have been much better if this had not happened at all! This has not helped any of us Conservatives who have been working hard to get the America-hating, hyperliberal 'woke' dreck flushed OUT of Congress in November!

    I don’t think it’s going to hurt the midterms. Between now and then Biden can still dish out a lot of misery. Only so many people really need an abortion and can’t get one, everyone is suffering from Biden.

    Let's be real. It isn't just the women who presently need an abortion ... it's almost every woman who has ever had an abortion, every woman who has a friend who
    they helped during an abortion, every parent who talked to a young woman about getting an abortion, every elderly woman who remembers
    fighting for the right to to self determination in regards to abortion, every young person who doesn't want government (state or national) making
    that decision for them, every doctor who doesn't want state governments standing over their shoulder when they have to make a medical
    decision in regards to a pregnant woman ... the list goes on.

    I can see it now. Tens of millions of women setting aside complete economic and social destruction to keep Democrats in power because they once knew someone on Facebook that had an abortion.

    It's the Independent voters who decide national elections, and only about 35 -39% of Independents support the Court's decision to
    end Roe v Wade. So it probably won't have a large impact on the mid-terms, but the next National election, the women's vote and
    the independents will be heavily impacted.

    About 50% of women know someone PERSONALLY who have used abortion services. And we all remember that the last time we
    had an economic melt-down, Bush and the Republicans were in charge - so there has been little difference when it comes to political
    parties screwing up the economy.

    What I don't remember is them actively trying to make it happen while telling us how its actually a good thing because it will advance their agenda.

    Unaffiliated voters were more evenly split on the issue with 53% approving and 42% disapproving the decision, according to the poll.

    Just over half — 52% — of those surveyed identified as being "pro-choice," while 41% identified as "pro-life."

    So what? Probably everyone knows someone who has had cancer but I doubt that means people overwhelming are in favor of cancer.

    You act as if the choice is actually between those things. If they don't buy into the right-wing narrative that you can blame all the economic and social woes we have right now on Biden and the Democrats, they aren't going to see the dichotomy you're hoping for here.

    But, it will also depend on who the Republicans are running too. Moderates and left-wing folks who may not be happy with Biden aren't going to turnaround and elect a Trump-clone running around screeching about stolen election fantasies or pretending to be Pro-Life*.

    Then why bring up rape? Everyone knows that is the exception and not the rule. Victims of rape can blame leftists that got too greedy.
