“On Monday’s broadcast of the Fox News Channel’s “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe stated that no other country comes close to posing the threat to the U.S. that China does and “no other country has the capability of essentially taking away the American Dream and a specific plan to do so, and the intelligence is clear.”

Ratcliffe said, “There are a lot of people who, for economic reasons, don’t want China to be our greatest threat. There are a lot of people who, for political reasons, don’t want China to be our greatest threat in America. But the intelligence doesn’t lie. China is our greatest threat, and it’s not even close, no other country has the capability of essentially taking away the American Dream and a specific plan to do so, and the intelligence is clear.””

China is a clear and present danger to the well being of the USA. They have every intent of being the dominant military and economic power in the world. They are acquiring the means to do it. They are using intelligence assets and cooperative Americans to achieve their goals.

Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe stated that China’s penetration into American government networks is “significant and growing every day.”

Host Tucker Carlson said, [relevant exchange begins around 3:00] “[G]ive us a sense of China’s penetration into our networks, government networks.”

Ratcliffe responded, “Well, it’s significant and growing every day. And Tucker, you made a great point in your opening about Russia. Listen, they’re a dangerous adversary. I don’t mean to minimize them, but you made the point correctly about economically, Russia can’t compete the way China can. The largest economy in the world is the United States. The second-largest is China. Russia’s not in the top ten.

I thought it was sad Obama put us in debt with China. 1 trillion dollar loan from China. What was he thinking?

The Democrats need to treat China as a enemy just like they claim to do with Russia but instead they put us in debt to China so China has power over us and we feel like we just have to take thier crap.

Trump was right to do Tarriffs. Let China know they have no power over us.

I don't know if you are in debt to China. But, you sure are in massive debt thanks to a succession of Governments using the national credit card and then boasting how clever they are in achievements. Who are you borrowing from?

I've posted a thread on this topic a while back:

    http://www.politicalforum.com/index...china-escalate-into-military-conflict.561046/

    What I posted then:

"1) Further strengthen our alliances, so it will be China against all other G7 nations instead of China against us and everyone else is rubbing their hands in glee.

    2) Start competing with China instead of trying to keep them down.

    China has a ambitious roadmap:
    https://www.scmp.com/comment/insigh...-model-shows-xi-jinpings-vision-will-outshine

"...He [Xi] wants to see China become a top innovative nation by 2035 and achieve global influence by 2050."

The top innovative nation... Let that sink in. While China is doing the right thing, investing in education, tech, infrastructure, renewables etc, we are slipping further behind by looking to the past.

From the cold war conflict with the Soviet Union, we should have learned the lesson: It is not military might that wins the conflict, it is innovation.leading to economic strength. We have to out-innovate China, instead of regressing back into the coal age.
    "

I stand by that position. The solution is not military conflict or repressive trade wars, it is winning the education, technology, innovation race, out-competing China on the economic front. This will become easier once the science denier is out of the office.

Wow... CONGRATS!! You have nailed PF.com bullshit bingo.... 4 invalid sources in a single post

    Ratcliffe, Carlson, Fox, Breitbart....

Pat yourself on the back... Not sure this could be topped, unless Alex Jones was driving Ratcliffe to the interview.... Could it be?

Trump has nothing to do with the declining education system in the US that has been happening for decades. Our education systems are turning out functionally illiterate "graduates" who don't have any other skill than "protesting social justice". The Chinese have a term for our newer generations of worthless whiners. Baizuo.
Baizuo refers to people who "only care about topics such as immigration, minorities, LGBT and the environment," who "have no sense of real problems in the real world," who only advocate for peace and equality to "satisfy their own feelings of moral superiority" and who are "obsessed with political correctness" that they "tolerate backward Islamic values for the sake of multiculturalism,

The Chinese are laughing at us as we train our new generations to be obsessed with issues from the past that are not innovative while they concentrate on the future.

The extremist rightwing "war on public education" has resulted in us losing out when it comes to STEM education.

Science Denialism is proving to be an EXPENSIVE LUXURY that we cannot afford any longer.

What are you talking about? The public system has been in progressives hands since they took the Bible out of schools. You guys have owned it and it has been a steady decline since then. Look where we were in the 60s compared to now.

The DEFUNDING and DISPARAGEMENT of Public Education by the extremist right has been ongoing for DECADES now. The decline BEGAN with when the extremist right attacked teachers as being overpaid and GUTTED school budgets.

    https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/california-in-crisis-californias-expensive-education-failure

This article says the teacher's salaries skyrocketing is part of the problem. I doubt the "extreme right" is responsible for California's failing school system.
The CTA's first big political victory came in 1988, when it helped pass Proposition 98, which amended the California Constitution to mandate that at least 39 percent of the state budget be spent on K-12 education spending. Since then, California teacher salaries have skyrocketed and are now among the highest in the nation (only Massachusetts and New York pay more).
At an average salary of $69,434 per year, a family of two teachers would bring in almost $140,000 in income per year. That is almost triple the state's $57,000 median family income -- and teachers get summers off.
But all of that money for teachers salaries hasn't helped students in the classroom. By 1992, the first year for which state-by-state comparisons are available, California ranked second to last among states tested (ahead of only Mississippi), in reading proficiency among fourth-graders.

Democrats made their phony Trump Russia collusion allegations as a smokescreen for their own collusion with China.

You realize our educational and economic decline occurred/was well occurring far before the science denier occupied the office, right?

Our DNi knows exactly what he’s talking about here. As for Tucker, his airing of that Chinese professor confirmed what we’d expected to be true all along.

“One thing I have learnt, President Xi of China is 100 per cent, Putin of Russia, 100 per cent... Kim Jong-un of North Korea, 100 per cent,“ Mr Trump said. “These people are sharp and they are smart,” he added.

"China has been working very hard to contain the Coronavirus," Trump tweeted on January 24, "The United States greatly appreciates their efforts and transparency. It will all work out well. In particular, on behalf of the American People, I want to thank President Xi!"
