    Only eat them at restaurants, where I can be sure they came from certain areas. I never eat fresh water oysters from rivers or from lakes. There is too much polution in most rivers in the US.

    Puritanical nonsense. However, none of this will soon matter with global warming spreading P.O.D.S. ( Pacific Oyster Death Syndrome) to ever more areas you wont have any oysters left to eat raw, marinated in lime juice or cooked.
