I want to hire a maid to clean my house 1 day a week. If I pay her $600.00 or more over the coarse of the year do I need to send her a 1099-misc form? I have searched and cannot find the answer for individuals, only businesses. I thought the PPACA mandated both businesses and individuals paying any business or independent contractor over $600.00 had to send the business or individual a 1099misc. Was that changed? Can anyone provide a link to the answer, please? But, I thought I remembered some legislation that did away with this regulation. However, can't find confirmation the IRS website. Help.
