I found this, I am not entirely sure how accurate it is. However, it is very interesting. http://vmpics.tumblr.com/post/11311433282
I find it interesting that Utah has a number 1 in Generosity and is #1 in Health and Contentment. It also is equal to Vermont (the least religious state) in Murder Rate and Percentage of Population Impoverished. What is suprising is that California has an Average IQ of only 96. I thought that with the Silicon Valley and other tech sectors, it would be higher. That explains however why Hollywood can't come up with an original thought and instead has to recycle everyone else's old garbage. What is no surprise is that West Virgina has the lowest Generosity given that they also have the lowest Health and Contentment ranking. After all, how can a person be generous if they are feeling crappy.
I find it interesting that they decided to colour code conservativeness in the same red as low iq, poverty, high rates of theft, murder and divorce and the rest. While I would agree with them, I would not trust those who do so without motivation to give an otherwise fair description. Also, divorce rates tend to be an indicator of women's rights.
Hmmmm...... I believe ranking are color coded, hence the the two colors being the red. Red being a higher score on a particular scale and green being a lower score.
The Southern states have a high percentage of blacks which explains these numbers far more than any other factor. Yet, it is not listed. Agenda, much?
no agenda necessary. what you are representing is that you know where your religion maintains a deep black root, in this country! i mean, it was the catholics that assisted in the slave trade, so you should know how that worked out in america.
Again, I find everything you say to be completely incomprehensible. The South is very religious, very conservative and also has a lot of black people. These factors combine to create the numbers on the chart, but are independent of each other. So the chart proves nothing, other than the fact that most black people are poor, which we already knew. Another factor ignored is the number of Catholics in a state. The higher the percentage of Catholics in a state, the lower the divorce rate, so you're going to see a lot less divorce in Northern states than in Southern states where there are very few Catholics.
The entire chart is a scam. It does not show that religion correlates with anything, all it proves is that the Southern states have more problems in all areas and that's because there's so many black people, who are mostly poor.
seems like you are reading it perhaps you are lying about that too? They are just like any other people. You are the one with BLACK in your name on this forum. Does than mean you are a poor black child? And perhaps a bunch more pedophila in the highly catholic states. (by the clergy) Is that predominately a 'white' thing?
So it's racist to point out the obvious fact, which can be determined by government statistics, that blacks have less money than whites, are less educated than whites, have a lower IQ than whites, have less stable families than whites, commit more crimes than whites, are imprisoned more than whites, and etc. Because you will have to blame the government for gathering these statistics, not me!!! The government is racist for publishing the data they have gathered!!! Any attempt to compare the social conditions of the South with the rest of the country will fail unless it takes into consideration the high concentration of blacks that live in the South, and drag down the averages. So if you want to compare Mississippi, which is approximately 50% black, with lily-white Vermont, all you've proven is -- absolutely nothing except that black people generally have more problems in all areas than white people. You've proven NOTHING about the contribution of religion to social problems -- so the chart is a lie. But it's very clever to cover up your lie by calling me a racist for pointing out what a lie you're telling with this chart.
Utah is also the home state of the Mormons. That too is interesting in contrast to the points that you have indicated about Utah.
Lily-white Utah has 1.8% blacks in 2010 census up from less than 1% in 2000: http://www.deseretnews.com/article/...number-of-blacks-in-Utah-up-72-in-a-year.html Calling me a racist doesn't solve the problem. If you want to solve the problem then get rid of the welfare state that keeps blacks dependent on the government and miserable. Also, give black parents choice in schools. That won't solve all the problems, but it will solve many of them. I note that Democrats and liberals are dead set against any idea that will actually get blacks out of this situation they're in.
Who called you a "racist"? Are you suggesting that various religions actually form various ethnic groups (as in forming Nations of People)?
I can't believe I'm actually defending Blackrook here, but I believe he is trying to illustrate the correlation between disenfranchisement and poverty and the plethora of social ills observed in marginal communities.
