I do, just not one encapsulated by infinity nor controlled by eternity. However, it is guided by reason, with reality it’s only arbitrator. No need for a mystical being who rewrites metaphysics with the whisper of a whim.
You totally miss the point. To believe mankind is the most glorious, wonderful, loving, powerful force in the universe is naive and the ultimate in hubris. Can a man do what a bee can do, or even understand how a bee flies? No, a man has to educate himself over 1,000s of years and then create a huge infrastructure just to get his feet off the ground. And still nothing man has created can fly like a bee or as gracefully or dynamically as a bird. And what species has mass murdered entire populations of itself, what species spawns groups that revel in terror and torture? Only one. The universe is glorious, it makes a man feel small. Ask any astronomer, or any scientist.
Then sit in your recliner and eat chips and watch tv. The rest of us will face the challenges of the world.
Okay, and if atheists think God is so pointless and silly and that everyone is a fool for believing in Him, why are they always talking about Him? They don't start threads about Santa; they don't write novels and essays disproving the existance of leprechauns; and they certainly don't project their snarky hatred on the Lochness Monster. The truth is that atheists cannot get God out of their minds. Their resistance to the Light is manifested in an itch, trapping them in a cycle of subconscious rejection to the Truth in the form of, well, a whole lot of avenues, including this forum.
Before 2013, human understanding of aerodynamics and fluids and biology proved bees could not fly - yet obviously bees fly. It was not until about 2013 that scientists developed a theory explaining how bees fly, and then they only did it by analyzing many hours of high speed film of bees. That resulted in a new field of exotic flight or biological flight, as opposed to aerodynamic flight. Little bees were operating a level far beyond human understanding. A lot of what humans learn is not found through direct human thinking, but found through watching nature and the universe and copying it.
Ok. Ok. Ok. You keep those bees, “Sherlock”. I’ll stay with the heroes who built bridges, jets, spaceships, and skyscrapers. And you? Welcome to the Borg. You will be assimilated. Geez. Bees? As for the universe, whatever glory it has is that which Man gives it. It’s odd though, to hate your own species so much that a bee is more worthy of your admiration. Hmmm?
That a bee does not impress you is the proof that you are so very shallow. That you are unaware (incapable or uninterested?) shows a lack of inquisitiveness. Combined with your concern with comfort and ease shows there is not enough intellect or knowledge to warrant attention..
The bee impressed the hell out of the scientists. Technology is not solving the problems of humanity.
No are you? We're as violent a species, even more so, as we were before written history. Humanity is not transistors and other semi conductors. Technology isn't moral or ethical. If anything, look at how people use their smart phones, isolating themselves from human interaction, like zombies mesmerized by a 2 inch screen.
Wait, so you MEANT to say it hasn't ALREADY solved ALL of humanity's problems. Please be more clear in your language, so it people understand what you are trying to convey.
It hasn't solved any of humanity's problems. Look what's happening. I just read a story where a robot is manning a hotel front desk and how robots will replace man. Female robot brothels, etc. Some are calling for the right to marry a robot. I'd rather live with a family of real humans in the 1800s than to live with cyberbots in the 2800s. Technology is fixing it so that we don't ever have to deal with each other again.
Well, that's embarrassingly stupid and I don't have any delusion that any effort on my part would dislodge you from such a blatantly moronic position. Good day.
You have no position. You only post invective because that's all you have. You don't wish for debate or conversation or a swapping of views - just one invective comment after another, all of it amounting to nothing.
Neato! Your position is stupid. I feel no compulsion at all to reapond to the claim that technology has solved none of humanity's problems. It is a self evidently moronic position, and i feel just letting it stand for itself does more to discresit it than any amount of effort on my part. By the way, ideas don't have feelings. So wipe that tear away....the idea will sleep fine tonight.
And now you use that old childish tactic "I know you are but what am I ?" I'll not waste any more time trying to converse with a child.
