Normally this weekend would be picnics with lots of flags, ball games and going to the cemetery and planting flags. Not so this year as like many we are still in lock down mold and staying away from big crowds. I thought maybe there may be many like me on the forum who would like to share about their Hero's or Heroine's on this memorial day weekend. I would like to recognize my Dad who joined the Navy after the bombing of Pearl Harbor and fought the war in the South China Sea. I would also salute my step-father who caught a grenade from a Japanese nurse when he came upon wounded Japanese that he and his partner had wounded from traps they had set in the jungles of Okinawa. I also wish to remember my Uncle who was shot down somewhere between England and Germany. I give special thanks to my Uncle Dave who use to baby sit us after he came back from Korea where he survived bullet wounds from a machine gun nest. He suffered sever psychologic problems later in life. Of course special kudo's to all the men and woman who sacrificed that we still have a great country today.
