The bolded: I concur. That being said, the probability that those MAGA-hat people who were taking "tours" on 2021-01-005, when in reality the Capitol Building was supposed to be closed to the general public, could have been part of the illegal, deadly, seditious insurrection on 2021-01-006 is higher than, say, for instance, a latte-sipping pajama boy Liberal.

It was her job to make false allegations, allegations with NO basis, VILE allegations against a co-member of Congress? She went public, smearing a fellow member that's not her job and she ended up with egg on her face and should apologize.

Talking to the them about WHAT, a member of Congress giving a tour of the Capital to their family at their swearing in? Why should she be talking to the FBI and DOJ about that?

Maybe Rep. Sherill should have called Rep. Boebert and congratulated her on her swearing in and compliment her on her lovely family instead of insulting them all.

Rep. Bobert is the source it was HER family,

""This was my family, Sean, coming to celebrate this moment where I was being sworn in as a newly elected member of Congress," Boebert said. "This is absolutely disgusting. There has been... about 30 members of the Democratic party who signed onto a letter asking for an investigation of this so-called reconnaissance tour and there's not a shred of evidence.""

where is her apology else what evidence did Rep. Sherill have that they were future insurrectionist and then engaged in that insurrection?

An investigation will clear up all allegations. We have seen tin he last 2 months, politicians can make wild allegations without providing concrete proof.

How would you feel if Sherill was wrong but continued disseminating this reconnaissance theory despite numerous investigations to the contrary. Republicans made their bed now they have to sleep in it.

If a federal official commits a crime or otherwise acts improperly, the House of Representatives may impeach—formally charge—that official. If the official subsequently is convicted in a Senate impeachment trial, he is removed from office.https://www.senate.gov/reference/Index/Impeachment.htm

Geez, take it easy. As a general rule, people who bear false witness get theirs, sooner or later.
Getting all excited over not much makes you guys look like you could come unglued. We'll see what Joe really wants as we talk about a deal. Joe may be willing to take half a loaf.

Were I Joe... I would give on the minimum wage, agree to shorten the length of time for the support, target it to those in need, individuals and small business, but not give an inch on pushing for PPE production, money for states to dispense vaccines if the state is willing to go along with a federal plan, or come up with a plan within guidelines, and help for states to maintain basic services.

We want to have vaccines we can mass produce here and the means to distribute them rapidly for those who want them. We need good PPE for everyone in case we can't control the virus with vaccines and treatments.

As for Trump ... I would hold off until we have completed an investigation of what happened at the Capitol including Trump's actions given he no doubt had intelligence on the people who showed up.

The bottom line here--investigate what happened at the Capitol. After we know, then we can decide what to do about it.

Dodges noted this has nothing to do with Biden or Trump or COVID or minimum wage and everything else you could throw in there so you didn't actually address the issue.

Bottom line is Sherill needs to withdraw the allegation for which she has no basis and apologize to Bobert and her family.

    False. Very false.

Article 1, Section 5 of the US Constitution:

U.S. Senate: Constitution of the United States

This means that there is a separate and very specific process for each House of the US Congress to remove elected officials from power if warranted, and seperately from each other, and that process, in this case, is not called impeachment. It's called "expulsion", exactly as I have mentioned before on this thread.

You're upset about nothing. I tried to help you refocus away from your imagined grievances. Oh, well...

It's not what I call it that counts. It's what the Constitution calls it that counts.

The bolded: I agree with you. A number of Senators and Representatives should most definitely be expelled according to the 14th amendment to the US Constitution.

Are you okay? I said she should talk to authorities about her accusations. It's not enough to make public claims over serious matters without talking first to those who properly investigate wrongdoing. I have some concerns she may be undermining investigations by going public.
    Maybe not, too.

Boebert is a rightwingnut. Congress has every right to decide members are not allowed to carry a weapon in the House chamber.

She made a vile and baseless accusation against a fellow member of Congress. My post still stands.

She has no basis for her fallacious claim. Why can't you just admit it?

A formal censure on the floor of the House with her apology to Borbet, her family and the House would do.

I hope we're getting to the point where we've all had enough of perps on the right and left trashing property and using violence.

I'm not clairvoyant. We'll see what comes of an investigation.

I think you would get further if you took it a step at a time by calling for an investigation of her claims. It's fair to claim at this point there is no evidence supporting claims any elected official has encouraged the Capitol riot.
