Not per the GAO study. In 72 tries, nobody was willing to sell to prohibited people. Yes, theoretically it could happen, but in reality it's rare.

 

Why would a prohibited person even want to try from someone out of state when it is so easy and available in state?

 

Regardless of where it was acquired, or how it was acquired, it was illegal from the very start. Nothing changes such facts.

 

Regardless of how a Felon buys a gun, it is still an illegal sale, and when caught, it is still illegal possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.

Felons and other prohibited people are not applying for or being issued concealed carry permits either, so since there are effective policies in place, why ask for
more restrictions affecting only law abiding citizens ???

Then there is quite literally no justification for them to actually be in place, and should be repealed immediately. If they are not effective, they should never have been enacted to begin with.

 

And new ones put in place

 

Remove the currently existing ones first and start over fresh.
