    Glenn Youngkin Wins Governor Race
    GOP Leads Lt. Gov, Attorney General; Dems Lose Control of Va. House

    In a bellwether race that the entire country has been watching and shouldn't have even been close, Republican neophyte Glenn Youngkin has been declared the winner of Virginia's gubernatorial race over veteran Clintonista Terry McAuliffe, and GOP candidates Winsome Sears (Lt. Governor) and Jason Miyares (AG) are poised to make it a clean sweep.

    Closer to home, Virginians have been wondering how the elections for the House of Delegates would play out and it appears that the GOP has regained control of that chamber, as well.

    This race was already bad news for Democrats but now it's great news for Republicans, because Righties in Virginia are in it to win it, not to score a moral victory heading into the 2022 mid-terms.

    I'll be posting my own analysis of the election and result in a little bit, but for now I yield the floor for comments.

    Very well-deserved loss for the Dems. Their campaign offered nothing. Just a bunch of Trump, Trump, Trump, racist this, racist that….. blah, blah, blah.

    Well-deserved, indeed, and playing the TDS card failed for McAwful and the Demokrats. The big issues were the economy, schools and public safety and the Dems were on the wrong side of all three.

    I think the tide started turning against them during the 2A Sanctuary movement. Dem overreach had a lot to do with their defeat not only in the statewide elections but the House elections, as well (my own purple district in Central VA sent its Dem delegate packing). Wokey Donkeys in Virginia took it on the chin yesterday.

    Great quote - most appropriate.

    When the 2A Sanctuary movement began in Virginia I could see a lot of people who had previously sat on the fence get off the political sidelines and I wondered if that would translate to this year's election and it appears that it did. Reportedly, we had record turnout yesterday and Youngkin and the GOP candidates down ticket needed that to win.

    I take it that it's become an appropriate name for an area filled with champagne socialists. :smile:

    When I grew up there it was still a predominantly agricultural area full of horse and moo farms. A short spin west and you could see the Blue Ridge off in the distance...

    It sure looks that way. From what I heard a lot of the ballots that haven't been tallied yet are in areas that won't change the outcome.
