https://www.businessinsider.com/poll-medicare-medicaid-social-security-cuts-vs-gop-tax-law-hike-2018-10 Trump is talking about cutting spending--5% in every department other the defense and entitlements--but he's only looking at 15.9% of the budget . McConnell has entitlements in his crosshairs. "GOP leaders, most recently Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, have said that cuts to entitlement programs are necessary to deal with the long-term debt problem that was exacerbated by the passage of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, the GOP's tax reform law." But the GOP won't even dare try. "According to the Marist/NPR/PBS poll, 60% of Americans would rather reverse the GOP tax law to deal with the growing deficit. Just 21% of Americans would rather make cuts to entitlement programs of Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security." I think I can smell roast Republican.
Everything will be cut to zero if our economy collapses because of our debt. Have to start somewhere.
That's true, but it's not the only thing that needs to be cut. The good news is that with the democrats controlling the house, and Trump controlling the executive, we might have such a stalemate that nothing ever gets signed.
Social security should not be classified as an entitlement, we need to call it what it is — a scam. If you want to make cuts eliminate duplication first then look to the trillions that the pentagon has “misplaced”.
Democrat Congress critters know that the unfounded mandates are a problem but have vowed to do nothing about it.
We should stop calling them all 'Entitlements ; ' Welfare, Food Stamps, WIC, ad nausea are not entitlements. They are taxpayer-funded handouts, and shouldn't be called entitlements at all. Social Security and Veterans Benefits are Entitlements because the people receiving them are entitled to them. They were earned and paid for by the recipients.
Dems have the House and think they have a mandate to do whatever they want. Speaking of ACA, dems were booted out of office when they passed that in 2010 and now Pelosi is back AGAIN! The problem with that is the senate and presidency are in republican hands. Get it? Steve
ACA was the name for the Affordable Care Act. It is now Trump Care, which is being starved by the administration for funds. That will change in 2021.
Your belief is based upon the 28 percent of people that still TRUST the lying liberal media's propaganda. http://thehill.com/homenews/media/3...utlets-report-news-they-know-to-be-fake-false Steve
