Promoting his new movie, Fat Al Gore doubled down on his global-warming proselytizing despite his massive and growing record of failed predictions: Manhattan was going to be under water because of Greenland ice melt, Kilimanjaro was going to be snow-free, we would be battling rapidly rising temperatures and stronger, more frequent storms, just to name a few. Even as late as last week, Gore erroneously blamed climate change for the break-off of a massive iceberg in Antarctica, though scientists said the iceberg’s “calving” was due to natural causes.

Gore's latest flick features a rapid-fire sequence of scary weather videos narrated by Gore in a mournful voice-over. Cameras followed Gore for two years as he flew around the world from Greenland to Miami, recording the planet’s demise from carbon-emitting airplanes.

As Fat Al Gore hawks his movie, he ranks climate change among the great moral causes of our time — equating it with abolition, suffrage, and gay rights — a claim with more than a tad of self-serving interest. Gore (again) says that we are at a tipping point (indicating misplaced guilt for abandoning his wife Tipper) warning of the destruction of “the future of the human race.”

Gore says that today’s youth will play a special role in “focusing the attention of their elders on the clear distinction between right and wrong.” That should go well.

If we don't immediately heed his sermon of impending doom, he warns that we will be punished with a world of “stronger storms, worsening floods, deeper droughts, mega-fires, tropical diseases spreading through vulnerable populations in all parts of the earth, melting ice caps flooding coastal cities, unsurvivable [sic] heat extremes, and hundreds of millions of climate refugees.” Neither age nor inaccuracy has mellowed Gore’s penchant for the apocalyptic.

Gore is the perfect archetype of the modern-day climate movement: monotonous, hyperbolic, and opportunistic. The climate crusade is on its heels, we’ll see if recycling Gore as "the hero" will work.

The habit of researchers like the recent much touted oceans are warming study to use very limited data and largely non-existent data to create estimated data using climate models and then to have the alarmist turn around and declare the data proves the climate models are correct undermines true scientific research and conclusions. It would be comparable to a drug manufacturing saying their drug should cure cancer, use that information to create fake research subjects based on their assumptions and then use that "research" to claim that their drug cures cancer. Very often the problem isn't the research, it is what the internet eco warriors who need their bias confirmed do with it. Heck, in that warming ocean study at least they acknowledge what they did, but not the internet alarmists who will never acknowledge a defect, limitation, adverse, conclusion, or inconsistent/outlying data point evah because their egos are too wrapped up in being an eco-troll.
