And unfortunately I have to admit I was swayed by that rigid denial, the royal commission which is a waste of money. Clearly, I was wrong, we did have to have it as many ignore the reality of the financial sector, until it is either affects them or it becomes a popular subject.

Many issues here have been known by these politicians and bureaucrats and simply ignored. So when they are brought together, people are shocked and appalled by something they ignored in the past. As charging dead people fees.

Leftrightleft is half right when discussing money as being the major issue here, but as I point out setting moral ethics for inanimate objects is ridiculous. The issue is the corruption of the capitalist system that creates the opportunity or will to ignore much unethical and illegal behaviour. And while people are willing to ignore such behaviour they will propagate and grow.

I love the way you just assume things, like you assumed that the banks would do the right thing, that the LNP would be so much more stable in its leadership, that the LNP being bribed, palling up with corporations, money, greed and power is better than Labor doing the same with unions.

Especially the way you assume I am an idiot, but that reflects on you not me.

Don't say it's because the unions are criminals and thugs because the big corporations have no problem with using those techniques.

Both parties are suseptable to corruption and abuse of power.

The issue is if the LNP sell us out just the 10% will survive while if Labor do, 90% will.

Let me explain my last comment, about it "reflecting on you".

Your argument is that the RC showed nothing "we" didn't already know, and as you said we didn't need one, that makes you an accomplice to covering it up. You also grilled me over a couple of paragraphs for "not knowing what I was talking about"

    Now the reflection bit.

When I was teaching I came across a group of art students in a part of the campus painting a tree.

They all painted the same tree but the interpretation was different. Their teacher said that the differences was more about what they felt than what they saw.

That is, a study of the work tells us more about the artist than the tree.

It often tells us more about the artist but in some instances, Durer for example, it tells us more about the tree than the artist.[IMG]

I will agree to disagree ,I think a study of Durer's works tells us a lot about him.

This watercolour shows he is meticulous for detail, it's an illustration not art per se.

Durer painted an oil colour , "Christ among the doctors". Showing he believed that science and religion could coexist. Not only was Durer an artist but also a mathematician publishing several theorems. His works were predominantly prints which again tells us a lot about him.

Sure, a lot of his works do but not all of them. Anyhow, this threatens to wander way, way off topic.

Essentially what I was trying to say but that in no way makes him less of an artist.

Oh yes. I am actually quite surprised at the LNP Wentworth campaign, their biggest rival is Dr Phelps and it's hard to find bad things to say about her so they must have spent an enormous amount of time searching for the worst photograph of her.

I think this is Bozo's last stand, I would be extremely surprised if he remains leader into the next election. The imminent demise and total collapse of Capitalism which has been on the minds of politicians on both sides for a decade or more which is why they are helping their mates stuff as much wealth, not money as money will be worthless it's wealth and power that will rule.

They keep throwing bones to their supporters so they don't wake up to how they are being manipulated.

I would say we have 10 years at the most before the storm.

By the by, Labor is just as bad as the LNP when it comes to this.

Just sitting here waiting for someone to correct me and to say we don't elect the Prime Minister.

IMHO we only elect the Prime Minister and whatever party he is attached to.

We look at what or who they are offering and who the party has as backup.

If I am wrong why do both sides keep changing leaders as the public perception of them keeps changing.

The Prime Minister is not like a football team captain, on the field the players are independent they have their guidelines but at the moment each decision is theirs but in the government it all goes by the leader first.

Yes, That is right. I felt we didn’t need a Royal Commission. Due to the fact, it has uncovered nothing we didn’t know already. AS I continue to point out the issue it has brought to the attention is the failure of regulators to actually do their job. THIS one point is why I was wrong. As I already asked, what illegal activity has it brought to light that was not already known??? So far you have flouted that point.

Suggesting I was an accomplice to covering up anything due to the fact you simply stuck your head in the sand and ignored the past media comments on the actions in the financial sector, doesn’t mean everybody else covering it up. I notice we had a Royal commission into Unions charging dead people fee’s for not resigning in writing from the Unions and charging for services not given... Silence, in fact many condemned the Government for uncovering these action… BUT now it is a bank… and the world is collapsing.

I am sorry you felt like you were Grilled over not knowing what you were talking about, because that was not the intention. The point was, while many want to rant about things we already know and complain about and have for years. The fact they are not illegal is demonstrative to the point of successive Governments continue to perpetrate the same failure. Also you focus on failures of ethical practices in the financial market rather than the people who are charged with holding them to account. You want take it personal, Ok do so. NOT my issue.
You want to give people a free pass for not doing their job??? Umm what was it, an underfunded government department??? Since the department charged with regulating the industry is actually one of the best funded departments of the government, or should I say parliamentary department tells me you don’t know what that department is. YET you are willing to ignore the departments actions here, because you think they might have an excuse…

And then you decided to make it a partisan political point, clearly pointing out you saw the failure in your comment and wished an attempt at provocation to win your point… Done nothing for your premise except discredited the value of your word..

Again, you can take it as a personal attack all you like. I was simply pointing out the obvious failure of your idea for better action.

Bawhahaha... It isn't that I assume the banks will do the right thing, it is that I assume the people charged with holding them to account will do their job. Unfortunately, as I sit here and say this I know that you and few others are people who wish to free pass the people we pay to do this job. Clearly you missed that in the so many posts I have made about this. In fact you take person umbrage to the very post pointing that out. Thus we know what this comment is about…

Oh I see, you’re incessant because your feelings are hurt… I am sorry… If you feel like I am calling you an idiot again that is your issue not mine. I have addressed your comments directly as they should be. Playing the victim because you don’t like the comments, your issue not mine…

It’s the Unions… you must be right… personally, I don’t know how you can associate the unions here as some sort of support of financial sector actions but feel free to draw some bow to how that can support or oppose your position. They actually have nothing to do with this situation only to the reactions of people in comparison to actions… nothing more, but I am guessing your trying to bait again…

I find it funny, that you admit both parties are susceptible to corruption and yet you still point to partisan politics as being differences between both sides of politics perpetrate the exact same thing. I certainly don’t understand, if they both do the same thing you can find a difference, but hey, I am not the one wearing the blinkers…
