Planes landing means low altitude.

The Russians would have us believe that, from the moment the missiles were detected by Syrian air defenses, they had time to redirect one of the planes, wait until it was far and high enough to be safe, and still shot most of the missiles down. That's beyond SF.

I'm not an expert in missiles, but I know from experience how fast even a relatively "simple" missile can fly.
