Well that was the problem; the mandate penalties were too low. The way to make it work is to make the penalty at least as expensive as a health insurance plan is.

Any plan that results in tens of millions of Americans losing health insurance coverage will result in the medical expenses of tens of millions of Americans being paid by the taxpayer - unless America abandons its moral commitment to provided needed medical care to those who are not insured and are unable to afford the cost. (That would be principally those who are not federally subsidized at about $250 billion annually via tax exemptions for employer-administered plans.)

According to the CBO it is accurate:

CBO and JCT estimate that, in 2018, 15 million more people would be uninsured under this legislation than under current law—primarily because the penalty for not having insurance would be eliminated.

Im confused. If Obamacare created the individual mandate, and Obamacare has only increased insurance roles by 11 million, where did the 22 million that will "voluntarily leave the individual mandate" come from ?

So if 22 million drop their coverage, what happens when they get sick ?

Yes, the majority that lose coverage in the first year will be due to inability to afford insurance or lack of desire to purchase.

By 2026, the majority will lose coverage due to the rollbacks on medicaid.

The CBO has a dismal record on health care numbers and now this.

Also, they are refusing to score it with the Cruz Amendment, which will really make the numbers nice.

How about they pay for their own crap.

Why do some people think they are entitled to other people's money?

Says the person who makes use of US Taxpayer funded infrastructure. Paid for with other people's money.

Anyway, I believe that Health Care is a right to all people and the cost should be born by the collective society.

Go to the hospital with no insurance, will you be denied hospital care? In places like Japan ambulances will take you to.hospital to hospital and they will deny you care.

Cost and treatment are two different things.

For the same reason they should pay for your ailments. Because when you have an entire countries worth of purchasing power, costs go down. Most other developed nations have figured this out already.

No you won't be denied, but that's also the least financially efficient process of providing health care. The idea is to reduce costs while increasing coverage.
Someone has to pay for that treatment. I see them as intertwined. ER care as the catch all is inefficient and more costly.
