Dmitry Orlov's intriguing article below is well worth reading. He is one Russian I usually read for his sharp analytical mind.

I wonder if his analysis is correct? I rather suspect it largely is as it confirm to the ever growing recognition that the US is an empire in deep and rapid decline.

I also think - and have long argued - that his analysis of the MH-17 and Skripal affairs probably is bang on target; both are such obvious US propaganda plays that I wonder why anyone believes them at all given all the mounting evidence that is now available about both events - for example we now know that the British government financed propaganda outfit, Integrity Initiative were and are responsible for the Skripal / Salisbury black propaganda event. Meanwhile, the late Robert Parry demonstrated time and time again that the MH-17 the-Russians-did-it narrative had no legs at all.

But read the entire article and decide for yourself...

Should have abruptly pulled out of the deal, perhaps not. Meanwhile our hands are tied while our real threat China is moving along with no restrictions. Can we afford to wait until they agree to come to the table?

According to Orlov, Russia is not coming back to the table - it has no need to. And China has zero interest in and INF Treaty with the US.

On MH17 I agree that the media line was pretty silly.

Its easy to get whipped up into a frenzy over issues such as these. Ukraine has become the frontline between Europe and Russia and so is high stakes. In these conditions misinformstion thrives.

Might I suggest that if you have a desire for suicide you keep it to yourself or catch the next plane to Switzerland where help in that endeavour is available for a fee.

The rest of us don't wish to get incinerated because you have infantile fantasies of global destruction.

A new arms race will end like the Cold War. The U.S. can spend enough to bankrupt Russia.

The Russian economy is about 7.6% the size of the American economy.

Yep, it wouldn't even be sporting to bring the Russian economy to its knees this time around...

Are you a stamp collector? I ask because you seem to be wholly fixated on envelopes while ignoring the enclosed message.

Well done. 10/10 in the stoopid stakes.

"Reds under the bed" is another saying. It came out of the mouth of Joseph Goebbles, the Nazi Minister of Propaganda.

    That should tell you something...

It is false in one sense in that Russia does have an arsenal of intermediate range weapons, the 9M729 missile syste, that Obama warned Russia about. Russia has made it known as far back as 2004 or 5 that it wanted some and that the US didn't need them but Russia did.

And what this thread tells me is that some of us are entirely willing to ignore the obvious. The treaty itself hasn't been adhered to by the Russians for a long time. Likely back to the beginning of the Obama administration and their reset. No one to blame here, just stoopid people in the roles. Hillary probably thought the INF was that agency in the Tom Cruise movies and wasn't bothered... But hey, someone had to help Russia... right?

Why is it, do you suppose, that the left in our country, who almost uniformly pine for all things Soviet, are so determined to put the US at odds with Russia today? Envy? Sometimes, I just get bored with the obvious.....

Yep, it would be the best possible outcome for most Americans in the longer term imo, as they would eventually wrestle their nation back into the hands of the people and away from the greedy betraying awfulness that continues to rule and plunder them. And as it currently stands - and has stood for the best part of four decades - the US is of nation fomenting war for profit, spreading them across the world as a matter of national foreign and economic policy.

And I find that really objectionable. So yep, hands up.

But my wishes don't and won't change the facts of what is coming. It's going to happen - only the timing is open to question.

Correct. Our entitlements are out of control. Government needs to be cut in half.

    So many questions!

Am I a stamp collector? Are you a Web Brigadier? How's the weather in Olgino today?

So, we're playing the Metaphor Game, eh? Alrighty then, it's on. Try this one on for size: Sometimes you can judge a book by its cover.

To your dazzlingly witty question, I actually did waste several minutes of my life that I'll never get back reading what's in the envelope you handed us and what did we find? More of the same old "Russia Good-America Bad" propaganda you're fond of spamming this forum with.

    Surprise, surprise.

The question I have for you is what didn't we find in this "intriguing article" written by that "sharp analytical mind"?

ANY mention of the Russian GLCMs that violated the terms of the INF.

Do you know what they are? I do.

In case you're blissfully unaware (or pretending to be so), Russia's violation of the INF is one of the worst kept secrets on the planet. Not only have people have been writing about it for years, people have been complaining to Vlad the Invader and his soloviki mafia for years, but for some less than mysterious reason the author somehow managed to miss all that and pull the claim that there is "no evidence" out of his ass.

You know what? The evidence is all over the Internet - photos, articles, sat imagery - but the hard-hitting investigative journalist from Russia Insider couldn't or didn't even try to find it. Judging from his propaganda screed I have to conclude that it was the latter. Obviously, Mr. Orlov isn't interested in evidence and facts, and obviously he's counting on his readers being equally disinterested in the annoying and inconvenient details that don't fit the Russia Good-America Bad narrative.

In conclusion, no I am not a stamp collector. I read your worthless and uninformative propaganda screed and it's crap, and what a surprise that it's crap because that crap came from - wait for it - Russia Insider.

For those who are unaware of who and what Russia Insider is, let's take a peek in inside the envelope:

    Crap source.
    Crap content.
Crap that doesn't even belong in this forum's Latest US and World News section.
