Fascism is the merger of corporate, union and state power under the state.

Equality of outcome is a notion in whose name a lot of evil has been done too. Authoritarian regimes, crippling bureaucracy, indeed almost all of the old fascist regimes were anti-capitalist.

Allying with corporate big business to crush competition and cartelize society is not capitalism, it ia certainly not liberalism.

 

For some posters the collapse of Trump nationalistic Republicans will be a hard pill to swallow. My hunch is that they will go underground to feel safe and refuse to read a history book for the rest of their lives. But of-course, reading is the first thing they give up for Lent.

The reason that I say this is that while fascism is indeed anti-democracy, an oligarchy that is fascism is not also defined by the other things you mentioned. And indeed, an oligarchy, the oligarchs, would love illegal immigration, for the cheap labor, for they would not care about american citizens who would want to be paid enough to live on. And they would not necessarily have to be racists either, or ethnocentric, for their prime interest involves maximally enriching themselves.

Indeed oligarchs would want to keep the population divided, so that no one would notice they were no longer being represented by their reps, only the oligarchs are represented, their economic interests. Just as Princeton evidenced in their study by the same name.
