Many conservatives went with Perot that resulted in the Clinton's moving into another public housing unit for eight years.

    Who really won ?

North Korea got two nuclear reactors from Clinton.

Osama bin Laden was allowed to remain free.

Hillary turned one of the offices in the White House into a cocaine den for her staff.

Communist China was allowed to import 400,000 Chi-Com AK-47's into America by just making campaign contributions to the Clinton's and the DNC.

His prophetic "great sucking sound" was dead on accurate. RIP, Mr Perot, sir. You were a visionary.

Christmas time 1969 I was stationed in Vientiane Laos as part of Project 404. Ross Perot flew into Vientiane with a 707 loaded with Christmas Presents for our POW’s in Hanoi. He tried to get the North Vietnamese Ambassador to accept them. Of course the North Vietnamese Ambassador refused to see Ross or to accept the presents. Until Ross showed up in Laos I had never heard of him. But his trying to get Christmas Presents to our POW’s put him on my radar map. It’s something I’ll never forget and it’s a story I think has never been told. At least to the American public.

When Ross ran for the presidency in 1992, I worked hard for him and again in 1996. He brought much needed attention to our national debt that waned and was totally forgotten once Ross left the scene. Perot was also successful in getting two of his EDS employees out of Iran once the Ayatollah took over. Something Jimmy Carter failed to do with our hostages in Tehran.

Bet you shouldn't run a gov't like a business either. Look at ole Donny wind bag. Everybody thought "well, he's a businessman so he can fix the debt". Well, it aint as easy as balancing the books.

Yeah. But running the gov't like a business doesn't work. Austerity? When you are dealing with a populace plus having to deal with others in gov't to get things done just doesn't work.

Plus gov't programs don't have to run a profit. What a silly idea.

My point runs deeper than that. A great CEO wouldn't run this country efficiently. The gov't isn't a business. Get it?

agree, but it depends, if they were a micro-manager like Trump, then no, they would not, I think some rich ceo's could do it though, but I agree, they could not run it like a business, but some ceo's could do it

Private business is accountable for its decisions

Government run by career politicians and unelected bureaucrats is seldom held accountable for its mistakes

People voted for Perot and trump for the same readons

They new that our democratic experiment was failing and want to save it

Unfortunstely if elected Perot would have faced the same negative reaction in washington thst trump is getting now

RIP Ross Perot. He was an inspiration for many, a hope that government could be controlled by the people again.

Osama worked for the CIA under the code name Timothy Osman, and was thus their tool and protected asset.

Which is why they are run so badly. Ross's idea was to cap growth to a percentage and eventually the income would match the outgo. That was not 'austerity'.

In 1978, two of Ross Perot's employees were taken prisoner in Iran.

Instead of paying $13 million in ransom, Perot hired a team of mercenaries, flew to Iran himself, and after they were broken out of prison had them smuggled across the Turkish border.

    What a legend. RIP.
