No in this case the senate conducts a trail based on the indictment of the congress. And in a trail continuing investigation with new evidence and witnesses being called in both prosecuting and defending is part of due process.

It's not an indictment it was in impeachment and the Senate judges whether to remove or based on the impeachement. They sit there quietly not saying a word and the House presents the evidence presented for the impeachment. The Senate does not conduct an investigation. You are not a very good student of American government. And what do you mean "results" of the Bengahzi investigation? It was not a criminal investigation what "results" were you looking for?
