I have absolutely no data whatsoever to offer but my gut instinct is 2006 election reflected the growing war fatigue and the 2010 election was a knee jerk reaction to Obamacare and people realizing they could be fined by the government for that which has historically always been a personal decision. It is hard to explain things sometimes to others and polling kind of sucks at capturing why's. I identify as an independent if polled though I consider myself generally left of the DNC on most things, and I voted for Mitt Romney. Makes no sense to anyone but me I guess, but to have nice things you have to first be able to afford nice things and I felt Mittens would be better for the economy which in turn would have raised revenues which would have in turn left us being able to afford expanding programs. Last time I voted Bernie then Jill Stein which was pretty easy for me because I knew Stein at least would never win. I didn't think Bernie was brilliant, but maybe if one of any of his programs got passed it would be a success. Hillary was too dangerous and Trump too idiotic, so the court jester winning was my conciliation prize.

I agree, I'm mad at the GOP too. My reason is we gave the GOP both houses and the WH and they aren't doing what we sent them to DC to do. If the promises they made don't come to fruition they will be made to suffer, rightfully so. But like you say there is a long time to go. Still the President has higher poll numbers than the Democrats and as long as 'resist' is the party mantra the numbers will remain the same. or worse.

The Democrats still have their winning issues:

    1. The constitutional right of men to hang out in women's bathrooms
    2. Riots against racist murderous police
    3. All white people are racists
    4. We should bring millions of Muslims to the USA

And Democrats still have their winning tactic of spewing hatred, insults and contempt at over 80% of voters.

With those issues and tactics, Democrats should clean up in the election. The flaw last time was they just didn't push their issues and tactics enough.

I posted the favorable ratings of the leaders before. But here they are again.
    Trump 40%
    Pence 39%
    Ryan 31%
    McConnell 21%
    Pelosi 30%
    Schumer 27%
    The Democratic Party 40%
    The Republican Party 33%
Now with the midterms coming, just congressional races, we have this.
    Democrats in Congress 36%
    Republicans in Congress 27%

The important numbers in my opinion aren't the party leaders or President Trump. It's how Americans view each party, especially Democrats and Republicans in Congress. Trump isn't running next year, but all 435 House members are along with 34 senators. There's nothing to be proud of when it comes to any of those numbers. If we weren't in a two party system both major parties would suffer huge defeats with their approval or favorable numbers. But it is what it is.

Yes, the Republicans are only ones who have ever gerrymandered.

Has there ever been a more disgusting, ignorant post in this site?

Only a lonely, disturbed mind could write that.
