what bullshit is that? Is this what Western propaganda is talking about?
Here's an example of "freedom and democracy." Kirill Fedorov arrested in Latvia.
    https://tass.com/society/1425757
    https://lenta.ru/news/2022/03/21/fedorov/
Fedorov began to receive regular threats and demands to change the direction of the commercials to anti-Russian, Readovka writes. The blogger decided to emigrate to Russia, but just before leaving, on March 17, he was detained by the Latvian state security authorities without giving reasons. After 48 hours prescribed by law, he was not released.
It is noted that the detention occurred at the request of the Latvian authorities, he is charged with cooperation with Russia, and the observer, as a citizen of Latvia, is planned to be charged with treason. Fedorov's relatives live in Riga, they are also under pressure.
    https://t.me/swodki/47719
Kirill Fedorov is the author of popular military history channels on Youtube and Telegram. On March 17, Latvian security forces raided his apartment. A search was conducted there, and the blogger himself was placed in an isolation cell.
Fedorov is charged with articles 78 and 74 of the Criminal Code of Latvia - inciting hatred and a crime against humanity.
    "I can't believe it
however, in an enlightened Europe of the 21st century, one can be arrested for freedom of speech and independence of opinion of the media,"
the editors of the War History Weapons channel said.

    Russia surrounds Ukraine cities
Russia complains that Ukaine army has weapons in cities.

We heard this from a friend in Ukraine this week. In a letter they said a Russian tank had been
circling their town all day. Everyone was terrified. In the end one man approached the tank and
said if they wanted to kill everyone they may as well do so now. The tank commander said he
just wanted to run out of fuel so he wouldn't have to enter the town and kill people.

NO. IT IS A CRIME TO CALL THE UKRAINE 'EXERCISES' A 'WAR.'
This is all over Western news. Let me repeat, 'It is a crime in Russia to call the Ukraine
    exercises a 'war.'
Furthermore, many people don't even know that Russia is deep inside Ukraine, they
think it's a Crimea and Donbass issue.

Furthermore we read today that the FSB tipped off Kiev about a 20 man squad coming in
from Belarus to assassinate the president. Same tipsters could have been responsible for
warning Ukraine about the airport attack on Day 1 of the 'exercises.'
This doesn't bode well for Putin.

    Article on CNN
Some of the refugees fleeing to Poland had never unpacked their bags, so to speak.
They are the refugees from Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk, South Ossetia and Abkhazia.
This Putin is our modern day Hitler. Going by stories of frost bitten and hungry Russian
soldiers, without ammunition and fuel and fighting a hostile population - one can really
see Hitler and his Operation Barbarossa here - in all its tragic comedy of errors.

If you run out of ammunition you would need need to show what you shot at.
And seeing how there's no blasted hospitals or schools and no Ukrainian
bodies in the street, what could he say?
Besides, when you have 'exercises' in the army you don't use live ammuniton
    against people.

    I heard Vladimir Putin's guns
    I heard Maria crying
Late last night I heard the news
    That Kiev was dying
    And Zhitomir is falling

I highlighted the keyword. In the media, the word "war" is used very well ... in particular, on pro-Russian radio. Nobody was shot for it. Can you find at least a couple of examples when people were brought at least administrative cases for using the word "war"?
I haven't heard of anything like that. Moreover, I will say that Zelensky does not need to be killed in the first place. He doesn't decide anything. Secondly, even harmful. There will simply be no one left with whom to sign a surrender. Thirdly, there is no Zelensky in Ukraine. He shoots all his appeals on a chrome key.

In general, there is an old Russian joke:
A town in the Western American steppe. Saloon. Two cowboys, a local and a visitor, are sitting at the table, drinking whiskey. Suddenly, someone rushes down the street at great speed, firing pistols in all directions. In the saloon, no one leads with their ears.
    Visiting local:
    "What was it, Bill?"
    “It was Elusive Joe, Harry.
“Why is he called Elusive Joe, Bill?”
“Because no one has caught him yet, Harry.
"Why hasn't anyone caught him yet, Bill?"
"Because nobody cares about him, Harry."

This joke is about Zelensky, by the way. ;-)

Hey, just read this on the Guardian. This is another Western publication banned in your country.
HOW DOES ONE MAN HAVE THE RIGHT TO TELL A NATION WHAT IT CAN AND CAN'T READ?
    Oh right, this is Russia...

Vladimir Putin has said Russian forces could conquer the Ukrainian capital, Kiev, in two weeks if he so
    ordered, the Kremlin has confirmed.
Moscow declined to deny that the president had spoken of taking Kiev in a phone conversation on Friday
with José Manuel Barroso, the outgoing president of the European commission.
Yuri Ushakov, a Kremlin foreign policy adviser, said on Tuesday that the Barroso leak had taken Putin's
    remarks out of context.
"This is incorrect, and is outside all the normal framework of diplomatic practice, if he did say it. This is
simply not appropriate for a serious political figure," he said of the Barroso leak, according to the Russian
    Interfax news agency.

Yeah, we have one about the Fox and the Grapes.
See if you can see Adolf Putin and Zelensky in it.

A Fox one day spied a beautiful bunch of ripe grapes hanging from a vine trained along the branches of a tree.
The grapes seemed ready to burst with juice, and the Fox's mouth watered as he gazed longingly at them.

The bunch hung from a high branch, and the Fox had to jump for it. The first time he jumped he missed it by a
long way. So he walked off a short distance and took a running leap at it, only to fall short once more. Again and
again he tried, but in vain.

Now he sat down and looked at the grapes in disgust.

"What a fool I am," he said. "Here I am wearing myself out to get a bunch of sour grapes that are not worth gaping for."

And off he walked very, very scornfully.

There are many who pretend to despise and belittle that which is beyond their reach.

ps there have been a number of attempted assassinations of Zelensky. If Putin is half smart he would have taken
this guy out quickly because he has rallied his nation to the fight.
    IS Putin half smart?
Well he certainly has a problem when his own security forces keep tipping Zelensky off.

The Ukrainians certainly made a really bad bet. They picked the wrong horse. Will Americans ever hold all those Democrats and state operatives accountable for the obvious collusion between them and the corrupted Ukrainian politicians?

Ukraine Worked With Democrats Against Trump in Election 2016 to Stop Putin. That Bet Backfired Badly.

Ukrainian and Democratic operatives also huddled with American journalists to spread damaging information on Trump and his advisers – including allegations of illicit Russian-tied payments that, though later proved false, forced the resignation of his campaign manager Paul Manafort. The embassy actually weighed a plan to get Congress to investigate Manafort and Trump and stage hearings in the run-up to the election.

As it worked behind the scenes to undermine Trump, Ukraine also tried to kneecap him publicly. Ukraine's ambassador took the extraordinary step of attacking Trump in an Op-Ed article published in The Hill, an influential U.S. Capitol newspaper, while other top Ukrainian officials slammed the GOP candidate on social media.

RealClearInvestigations also examined diplomatic call transcripts, White House visitor logs, lobbying disclosure forms, congressional reports and closed-door congressional testimony, as well as information revealed by Ukrainian and Democratic officials in social media postings, podcasts and books.

We'll have to disagree. The North Atlantic Alliance is rooted in centuries of shared ideals and values; those are neither old nor young, but timeless.

The US abandonment of Afghanistan was indeed dishonorable -- a dishonor shared by Biden and Trump -- but it does not affect Biden's legitimacy in office. That's why we have elections. Putin does not have that safety net.

Can you send a couple of links to Russian MSM using the word war for invasion of Ukraine?
Novaya Gazeta uses “…” for the word, they refuse to call it special operation. RIA and Tass only use Pootins terminology.

Russia is having problems with office paper, paper rolls for Point Of Sale terminals and a lot more miscellaneous items necessary for business.
The shortages of these little things will be the cause of the Russian economy grinding to a halt. Apparently, they can’t even produce food grade cartons for milk packaging. Sooner or later many businesses will be unable to produce or function in such environment. It’s not a question of if! :oldman:

I envy the luxury you have due centuries of a narrative embedded in people's minds to write a short sentence that conveys what you mean without the need for any lengthy elaboration or explanation. But the most timeless civilization and the most timeless of ideals arise elsewhere. Even neocons such as Patrick Clawson and Barry Rubin presumably have an inkling of what I am talking about, the same way that the guru of neocon scholars, Bernard Lewis had with somewhat more erudition. But the real story of timeless ideals is buried deep in the soul of your real nemesis, Iran.

I'd heard that Trump isn't getting those briefings. It was up to Biden and he decided against it.

First deliveries of $800 million in new US military aid have been delivered to Ukraine

    From CNN's Kaitlan Collins

The first deliveries of the $800 million in new military aid that US President Joe Biden is sending to Ukraine have started to arrive in country, an administration official tells CNN.

Biden announced the new package last week after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky delivered an impassioned plea to Congress for more help.

The US will continue to move the rest of the $800 million into Ukraine as quickly as possible, the official said, given it includes 800 Stinger anti-aircraft systems and 100 armed drones, among other assistance. Both are seen as critical to Ukraine's defense.

The US has nearly completed the delivery of most of the $200 million package Biden announced on March 12, including all of the Stinger anti-air systems and most of the Javelin anti-armor missiles. The remaining equipment from that package is expected to be delivered shortly, the official said, though they declined to offer an exact timeline.

    Live updates: https://www.cnn.com/europe/live-news/ukraine-russia-putin-news-03-23-22/index.html

 Sounds like those first Switchblade drones have arrived.
