I specifically opened this topic to write here without politics. On politics, I have another topic:

    http://www.politicalforum.com/index.php?threads/point-of-view-a-look-from-the-other-side.501252/

True, I completely abandoned him. It is very difficult to write the truth about Russia right now to the Western reader, whose brains are riddled with anti-Russian propaganda.

If you want, you can ask questions about political topics there. I answer the questions :)

The thread specifically is titled "without politics".

There are many threads here that don't involve politics. Quit trolling. The pictures are really cool

Hey, I have a question about vodka for you.
Is good vodka just pure alcohol?
If so, it would not seem to matter what it was made from
And ideally would have no flavor other than alcohol?
And it really would not matter if the vodka came from Russia or some giant distillery anywhere in the world?

Btw, nice pics. Thx for sharing

If you take chemically pure alcohol and dilute it with chemically pure water to 40%, then in such vodka it will not matter what this alcohol is made of. From grain, from potatoes or from oil. But such vodka will not taste good. Therefore, different manufacturers add various additives to vodka in small quantities - glycerin, glucose, sugar, malic acid, citric acid, etc.

Also, when making vodka, of course, no one uses chemically pure alcohol and water. And the taste begins to depend on the raw material of alcohol and the source of water.

As a result, vodka, being a very primitive beverage in terms of composition and taste, is actually very different in taste depending on the variety and the manufacturer. There are varieties that are drunk very easily and almost do not require snacks. There are some that an unfamiliar person can not swallow :)
I rarely drink vodka and only under certain types of food. For example, vodka goes well with pelmeni and sauerkraut. And in its pure form, without food, I prefer red dry wine, cognac or beer :)

Next year I plan with my family to relocate from Moscow to Kaliningrad. Therefore, now I have begun to pay more attention to things to which I have got used to for 28 years of life in Moscow and have not paid attention. I began to photograph more often the streets along which I am going home. In memory :) Sometimes something interesting happens.

Yesterday I walked from one district of Moscow to another, and on the way I photographed such an Orthodox church. By the way, this is a new building, was built last year. In general, I am against the aggressive expansion of the Orthodox presence, but I cannot fail to note the beauty of some decisions :)
