America as a result of World War II, unlike Russia, did not capture the country. It is a fact! So who is the conquering country?

There are always people, who think that conflict is inevitable. No, Russian Federation is not a 'most agressive country', I will keep repeating that. Especially in the light of latest events, when North Corea repeatedly launches missiles in direction of Japan, and USA military launched a bombing in Syria without permission from United Nations and involvement of Pentagon.

If some people keep measuring the strength of various militaries with bare words, not presenting any facts, statistics, stats, evuidences - this is their right. But this is not an argument - it's an entertainment. Like Guiness book, like coliseum, like a cоck fight. 'Matters not victory, matters the participation'. I prefer when people actually think.

Instead of demonising each other and using the 'badness of the opponent' as an exuse for violation of international laws and norms of humanity - we should be critically responding to any piece of media, sharing knowledge on situation, and cooperating with each other - openly showing disapproval to any violent action of the government. Any government.

Lady, I think you have no correct information. Possibly, you will be surprised to know that most people of the world believe that a most aggressive country is USA.Think about it, please and do not make so categorical judgments.

I'll point out that my post was made directly after a Russian on this forum (as indicated with the links in my post) detailed to me how Russia will engage in nuclear war and blow up the planet.

Very, very... Not funny. I know my nation better than, for example, you, and better know what moods and ideas are spread in my country.

Fair enough but if Russians threaten war on other countries conclusions will be drawn

Russians do not threat war on other nations, some people like to bragg about our - thankfully - pretty capable army. Does not means, that this army now is going to conquer the world. We are country with 9th largest population on the planet, biggest land and sea borders, and geopolitically can't afford being undefended or not defended properly by ourselves, like that do Japan or lesser NATO countries, due to either having support of foreign military, or having a collective military, that always can be relocated into country to give it time to mobilize in case of armed conflict. We - have no one to back us up, so obviously we posess army capable of repelling any sort of invasion. It is - a source of lot of pride, some problems, big (though, not as big as in USA) military spendings and a one of reasons of our state's independance. So it's normal, when - if one starts measuring whose military larger or more capable, or acking if we can defend ourselves - we say YES - WE SURE CAN. Usually it is followed by a colorful description of all the 'great conquerors' that, upon reaching our country, were getting their glory crumbling in pieces. Carolus XII, Napoleon I, Hitler, couple crusaders of western 'brothers in faith', several mongol khans, who even during the de jure overlordship over Rus had problems with their 'humble vassals', who constantly were rebelling or dragging hordians in inner conflicts, from time to time chewing the invading hordes, such as Batu and Mamai... Though on the east it always was 'back-and-forth', first with nomadic Horde, then - after it collapsed and we created own Empire - in collusions with Ottoman Empire. In 350 years we had 12 large wars with Ottomans, each taking 2-3 years.

Long story short: we are proud of our military history, it is rather inspirng, indeed has examples of quite genious tacticians, who managed to gather grandious armies - failing miserably, when it was coming to waging war on ruses, russians imperial, soviet people... So please, do not be mistaken by the tone we speak with about perspective of war. We do not like wars, we do not wish to start or be dragged into one. But if one starts - we will stand for our country, and none will falter. There much more chances that USA and RF will peacefully coexist, than that USA will manage to win war with Russian Federation. Sincerely. I know psycology of my people.

This is one of reasons why I argue for peace. World had too much bloodshed, millions of people, who fought in wars, had a crowning achievement of their life being fertilizing a piece of dirt. Humans have much, much more - much, much better things to strive to achieve. People would die for land - but allways all dream of simply living on the land. Raising children, and living in piece. We already had so many wars, that would never forget the value of human's life. It's in our blood, in our genes.

The whistle of bullet. The wet sound of metal tearing flesh. The scent of the death. Taste of the blood. The clang of the metal, the sigh of a dead, the groan of dying, the screams of fear and sorrow, the mixture of bravery, desperance and grief - war can be never forgotten, even if for millenias people would not be taking a weapon in hand.

But it's place - is to stay in the past. We deserve our lives. All of us. All humanity.

Rubbish... look at my sharp knife Ninian... it could cut your throat like slicing through butter... I'm just boasting it's not a threat.

You can't run around saying you're a peaceful nation all the while threatening other countries, you immediately lose the high moral ground.

I am explaining you, how people act, and yes - saying "it could cut your throat like slicing through butter" is not a threat, it's an example of what a sharp knife may do. Saying "I am going to slice yout throat, if...", or even with no 'if' - is a threat.

It's bragging, and all men do that. Compete, who has longer distance of missile flight, who has bigger guns, who has weapon arsenal that can wipe life off face of planet faster. Personally - for me is enough that one of USSR nuclear bomb tests could've thrown a chunk of planet's atmosphere in space, if accidentally detonated higher than it did. Being capable of creating bomb that can ruin planet's atmosphere - is my line of safety. As in - enough is enough, we can theoretically destroy the conditions for existence of life on the planet - with one bomb. Ok, good moment to move to something safer, curing cancer or maybe colonizing Mars.

But people won't stop comparing each other's militaries, incomes, et cetera. Whatever they want to do, as long as nobody gets injured, or worse. But do not mistake that weird way of self-satisfaction for actual threats. It's basically a childish need for a competition, projected on older age.

And as for knives - they can have much better use, than slicement of throats. Wood carving, for example.

"And of course all rockets and bullets are shaped like dicks" (c) G. Carlin. Basically, yes. Though it's just in man nature to compete, not necessarily by size of genitalia. But yes, that exactly how these competition of couch generals look from a distance.

Wow! If to be honest I haven't understood you mean, but I would recommend to follow the facts. And the facts are:
    1. USA had attacked an independent country violating all international laws.
    2. This country is under protection of Russia. Russian military forces are located there absolutely legally because Syrian government had invited them officially.
    3. Now Russia must defend Syria. And Russia has nuke.

This is facts only and nothing more. You can refute them if you can. If not, then answer the question: who engage the planet in nuclear war?

You are dear... you are cheap... It's a problem of your civilization, lady. You estimate all in money. Could you refute the facts I gave above or the emotions is your answer?

 yes you know me so well mr whoever the **** you are on the internet... you're a typical Russian, tell the world how peaceful you are then go and invade other countries, are complicit in the use of chemical weapons in Syria (which btw is a warcrime) and threaten other nations with nuclear war.

OK. You don't want discuse the facts. If a lady say no, it means no. Is it correct?
In this case, I have to discuse about that the lady wants. Because I am a gentleman (Siberian gentleman).

    The lady wants I'd tell:

Sorry, which country was attacked by Russia? Maybe you mean Iraq? But it was the USA. Maybe Libia?? No, again the USA destroyed this country. Wow, may be Syria??? Not, not and not. The USA only. Could you give me a list of the countries where Russia invaded? It will be interesting for you :)

Sorry once more. Could you say what kind of chemical weapons was used in Syria? It's the easy question, isn't it? Try to answer on it.

Invasion - I'm referring to Crimea
Chemical attack - I'm referring to the recent attack in Syria - Russia was responsible for the removal of all Syrian chemical weapons in 2013
Threatening nuclear attack - I'm referring to my conversation with another Russian, although I have been been advised what I perceived as a threat was apparently .... well sorry I can't really tell you because your ears are to delicate for this conversation
