Russia Jehovah's Witnesses banned

The Russian Justice Ministry cited the American group’s creed on blood transfusion as reason for the ban. The Russians are especially vulnerable to be brainwashed by extremist groups because they have not yet developed an immunity to religious sects, which had started to spread like wildfire in Russia after the fall of the Soviet Union. The Russian list of banned extremist organizations also includes white supremacist organizations and the Aum Shinrikyo cult from Japan, which are Doomsday cults similar to the Jehovah's Witnesses that predicted the world would end in 1999.

 

One should generally ban religion as fraud. Theology is pseudoscience.

 

I can not understand why Jehovah Witnesses are extremists. They strictly follow the Bible teaching, do not smoke, drink, use drugs, commit adultery, refuse to kill etc.
They probably are serious competitors to money making Russian Orthodox Church.

An extremist Church

 

Well, they had unpleasant specifics in RF. They been demanding donations of money and property from their followers and had other cult-like activities. Can't say if their ban is precisely justified or not, but I assure you - they had their share of shady incidents that gave them bad reputation in RF.
