Well, well, well, looks like Russia is getting behind.
Nothing but the use of old Soviet developed weapons and bare chest thumping from Mr Pootin.
What else can you expect from a country where everything is fake?

Perhaps Russia is just better at keeping secrets than other nations are.

    Something to think about.

First of all, this is more of a guess than a confirmed fact!

However, the fact is that the SU-35 and the SU-57 are constructively very close and there are no such significant differences between the two jets.
Yes ... stealth, I know ... but even the SU-35 is already very stealthy and a damn good plane. Not for nothing the same NATO code applies to the SU-57 as to the SU-35 .... "Flanker"

Anyway ... What is now in detail with the SU-57 is subject to secrecy and everything is more speculation and rumor. It only seems certain that there are problems with the new engine, which causes a delay.

Russia has run out of money again.
For a while with oil prices so high they were awash with money and defence spending rocketed.
Then the oil price collapsed and it fell again.
Now it has gone back up...

Pootin isn’t good at keeping secrets when it comes to defense. He likes to announce prototypes of prototypes on his television speeches.

That's a bit correct what you write. There is a lot of propaganda BS ... exactly what this forum member "Destroyer of Illusion" likes to spread as Clwon.

De Facto prepare the Russians also quietly and secretly, and also modernize vigorously. And the products are also in demand ... because the now obsolete Patriot where the successor is still in the test phase - the MEAD system - is bought and introduced in Turkey and in Sauidi Arabia by the Russian counterpart to the MEAD ... the S-400 system which is really good and far better as the Patriot system

If he were good at keeping secrets how would you know he wasn't?

Why didn't you speak up and warn us when Putin was keeping secret about his plans to steal the US election and give it to Trump?

Obviously you knew he was going to do it right?

Russia stole elections? Maybe you should be on Muellers team, since you know something they don’t.
All I’ve seen so far is proof that Russia spent a couple of thousand of bucks on Facebook ads. I work with an event promoter, we burn through that in 2 days. Russia’s posts had no impact whatsoever! And it comes from someone who hates Russia and thinks it should be allowed to fall apart.

"The Su-57, a plane designed to function as a killer of US F-35 and F-22 stealth jets with an innovative array of radars, saw a brief period of combat over Syria, but the deployment lasted only days and didn't pit the jet against any threats befitting a world-class fighter."

Russian/Soviet aviation technology has been routinely beaten by Americans for decades. The ruskies still think dogfighting is a thing. American planes can engage multiple targets and hit them with missiles from miles away and long before the Russian planes even know they're in a fight.

The F-35 is a lemon. Was supposed to be ready in 2006 and they are still grounded due to various issues.

It managed to reach production and make it into combat. I wonder how many of Russia's customers will ultimately wind up buying the F-35.

Sorry to burst your happy bubble but the F-35 is a lemon - a tribute to the massive bureaucratic cesspool we call Washington.

Maybe you know something Mueller and the FBI? There is proof Russia meddled in our election but no proof they actually helped determine the winner.

SU-57 was an answer to F-22. Does the US still produce the F-22?

The F-35 is a (sometimes) flying piece of overpriced crap. I don't see how other nations can even think of buying it, unless they're being somehow politically coerced into it.

Both stealth and BFR combat is overhyped - way, way overhyped. There are countermeasures in both case, cheap if hi-tech (or even low-tech). Once BFR or stealth doesn't work, one is effectively down to dogfighting.

The US have been under-valuing dogfighting since the F-4. Things didn't change. The last real dogfighter the US had was the F-16.

Just because Russians can’t afford 5th generation fighter doesn’t mean that they are flying crap.
Russians can buy them from Chinese - those guys don’t seem to think 5th generation fighter is useless and are building their own.

The Russians wouldn't by Chinese fighters. The Chinese armed forces haven't been blooded for decades now and combat quickly reveals defects in weapon systems.

And the SU-35 was known as the SU-27M so the basis is a 1970's era fighter. :clapping:

Russia knows that it doesnt stand a chance, so why bother building ?

Not all "5th gens" are as crappy as the f-35, probably because the F-35 is designed to be a jack-of-all-trades with no particular focus, with the overall mediocrity that usually ensues.

I don't believe much in "5th generation fighters" hype. Like I've wrote, stealth and BFR is quite over-rated. "5th gen" concept is already outdated, and some "fourth-an-a-half gen" fighters pack more technical innovations: The 6th gen fighters shall be drones, that much I am sure of.

But you are right is saying that the Russians can't afford it - and neither should the US, which engulfed billions upon billions into it to have the fruit of their researches sold to the Chinese by their mutual Israeli friends. The countermeasures to both stealth skins and BFR are quite cheap, and probably for these reasons, France doesn't see any need to invest in the concept anymore after a few prototypes neither. I think that India is still interested, but I'm not sure.
