Russia is launching 100 missiles a day at the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric dam in Kherson, thanks to the American Himars. So far they've been thwarted by Russia. If the dam is destroyed, it will flood enormous areas and kill thousands of civilians. Since the West could care less about the deaths, and only thinks of how they can flip it to blame Russia, Moscow has formally asked the UN Security Council to intervene.

Speaking at a Security Council briefing, Vassily Nebenzia noted that as the West chooses to ignore “any criminal acts” committed by Ukraine, they have been “consistently conducting strikes on civilian infrastructure in its former territories”, including the town of Novaya Kakhovka in Kherson Region, which was recently incorporated into Russia. Most of the missiles are being launched from US-made High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems
    (HIMARS).

“Ukrainian forces are aiming at the Kakhovskaya dam in order to break it, causing the water level to rise and the adjacent areas to flood,” the diplomat said. Should this happen, Nebenzia warned, “thousands of civilians may be killed, and thousands of homes damaged.”

The envoy said Russia has distributed a letter to Security Council members, calling on the UN leadership to prevent “this terrible provocation."

Thanks for starting this thread as I have a friend who is a doctor in Kiev and she is not allowed to leave because of the importance of her job.

I have a few questions about the following sentence:
    1. I don't understand how the dam could withstand the destructive force of "100 missiles a day" unless they are bottle rockets.
    Do you think that's reasonable?

    2. Are you suggesting that the Russians are shooting at the dam because the US gave Ukraine American Himars?

    Thanks,

An urgent message was sent to evacuate Kherson! Directions were also given as to where the people can go to take a boat to cross the river since the Ukrainians had bombed the bridge. They were also told not to panic and to make sure they take all important papers with them.

"All civilians in Kherson must immediately leave the city," a statement posted on Telegram said.

"The citizens of Kherson and the staff of all departments and ministries of the public administration must today cross to the left (east) bank of Dnipro."

In the last 48 hours, Russian troops have prevented two attack attempts by the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kherson region. In the first, more than 200 Ukrainians were killed while 14 tanks, 16 armored vehicles and 7 other special vehicles were destroyed in one day. In the second attack by Ukraine, Russian troops killed more than 120 Ukrainian soldiers while destroying six armored fighting vehicles and 13 other vehicles.

Russia also prevented attempts by 20 sabotage groups and reconnaissance of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to infiltrate the Russian lines. All these failures, makes it more necessary for Ukraine to cause some major civilian catastrophe like destroying the dam and flooding Kherson, or destroying the nuclear facilities that would kill thousands of Russian citizens - which of course can always be blamed on the Russians themselves.

This might be the provocation Russia has been waiting for from Washington, so that they would be forced to retaliate with a nuclear attack - something Russia would be wont to do otherwise.

According to my sources they are being stopped by Russia's missiles defenses, but for how long? This is why it's being brought up at the UN. I'm sure Russia will provide the proof as it did with the strikes on the nuclear facilities. Whether the UN will do anything is questionable, since they have a financial dependency on certain nations.

That was an error on my part, it's Ukraine that has the Himars, and it's Ukraine that is launching them at the dam not Russia. The point is that the Himars are being used on civilian infrastructures, and it's completely ignored by Washington.

There were, she just doesn't want you to know that she is cutting & pasting statements from the Kremlin. Of course, we all correctly assume that Jenny's posts are just repeating statements from the Kremlin anyway, so there isn't any need to pretend.

I gave the one source required. If I gave the others, then our forum agents would put financial pressure on the editors and there's no reason anyone should suffer for revealing the truth.

RT is propaganda because they do not mimic the news as told by our government and the MSM, and we all know how honest and trustworthy they are.

By the way, whatever happened to the non existent hospitals in Syria Russia bombed?

How we love our Fairy Tales.

Russia wants to blow up the dam because they love to kill their own people to make Ukraine look bad, a tactic they have been using since 2014 - or at least according to Poroshenko and Zalensky. But God bless America, Washington will not fall for it, and will keep sending billions to Ukraine to stop the Russians from killing their own people.

A few days ago, there was a historic meeting taking place between the Russian and US defense ministers, Sergei Shoigu and Lloyd Austin. I guess it was about Russia's policy of killing his own people to make Ukraine look bad. At the same time as the meeting, Putin did it once again, and launched a major attack on the center of a small village in Russia, hitting a school, church, kindergarten and cultural center.

Oh sure. The invading nation who has done nothing but target power stations and major civilian infastructure in a means to terrorize the Ukranian population is saying they are not the ones who are going to blow the hydro damn (power) of a town they are retreating out of?

I mean...why would I believe anything that **** stain country has to say since this entire war is exactly what they signed a memorandum stating they would not do?

Russia word isn't worth a bag of hammered ****.

Uke lives do matter, so why is Zalensky sending the conscripts to the front lives without training, protective gear and arms? Also why has he refused his men to retreat, when his own Generals were begging him so they could save lives?

The ratio of deaths is 1 Russian to every 10 Ukrainians - which makes me wonder if the intent is to exterminate all Ukrainians, not just the Russian ones.

    Talk about ass backwards.

Actually it's Russian conscripts that have no training. We have video evidence and the reality that they are losing ground. Ukraine soldiers are being trained by NATO before being sent to the front lines.

Jenny, Jenny, you haven’t posted anything truthful about Russia or the Ukraine since before the invasion.
    Likely even longer.

I see you’re not even trying to change.
    Carry on.
