Russia rejected progressivisms darlings: socialism and globalism, and now promotes nationalism and capitalism instead. The only country that progressive america treats worse is conservative america... for precisely the same reason.

Really shouldn't encourage new members to post opinions and beliefs and or ask hypothetical questions in the two news sections..we have a section for these. Its a nice topic though

Because the left wing of the Democratic party in America blame Russians for losing the Cold War.

So President Clinton's Secretary of State, Madeleine Albright along with the "New Left" with in the Democratic party and a few neoconservatives (NEOCONS) want to refight the Cold War.

@Mamluke13 Your assumption of the reader concurring with Saudi Arabia and Israel being in any manner synonymous is absurd.
You may lay it out as a thesis and argue why it is true.
I do believe the Board would welcome, although not agree, with it.
But to assume the reader recognizes your assumption as fact makes the reader believe
    this "newbie" is a troll.
    This "newbie" is bought
    This "newbie" is neo Nazi
This "newbie" ain't worth the bytes it takes to support their upload.

This Board does appreciate diversity of view points.
This Board does not appreciate "hate" based view points.
Except Greek oriented @Jeannette :blowkiss: and any Turk.
But, that's history, honest history. With well referenced uploads.
Turks don't last long on this Board when so intellectually challenged.
    So true, so true.

@Mamluke13 (too bad about Napoleon) Enjoy your time here.
Should you be "real", try avoid what you did.
    Saudi Arabia and Israel, really?

Because Russia is opposed to and acts against the ideals the United States stood for until Trump decided we don't anymore. Take heart however as it seems we are becoming much more aligned with the mindset and standards of Russia and may become a close ally before long at this rate.

The problem with Russia is that it is a kleptocracy - every businessman of any significant status is a crook. The movement from state ownership to private was basically a transfer of ownership to the politically connected elite.

In terms of freedoms (sans freedom of the press) Russia is no more of a Police state than the US.

The ideals of the US were under siege long before Trump. Trump did not create the "Establishment" but he is now an Establishment wonk.

The problem in this nation is the Establishment - which consists of more than one individual.

The US must have at least one enemy to keep its military industrial complex fabulously profitable. It prefers numerous enemies.

Russia, Iran and a few others are the "bogey man" to hold up in front of the credulous American public.

Because Russia has 30% of the world's resources, and it refuses to bow to American hegemony and the liberal so called 'virtues' of our one world order. Without Russia's resources the US cannot rule forever - and that upsets the Washington elite.

I don't know if this is a deliberate spin, or you really believe it? Russia was a kleptocracy under the American installed Yeltsin the way Ukraine is today, and like Ukraine, the people in Russia were really suffering. Putin decided when he entered office that it made better economic sense not to punish the 'robber barons', as long as they paid their taxes and didn't enter politics.

The ones who refused ran out with their stolen money, mostly to London. Today some of them fear being killed by the MI6 so as to blame Moscow, so they are negotiating their return to Russia. Putin doesn't give a damn if they come back, but he wants the stolen money back.

He has been clamping down on bribery these past years, since it's money lost from the Russian treasury, and especially on bribes by the CIA towards government officials since it endangers the Federation.

There is more freedom of the press in Russia than in the US. I believe about 150 publishing firms in Russia are foreign owned, while here all the MSM are owned by 6 corporations, and they are the ones that contribute large sums to our elected officials - which means they are both in tandem. This accounts for the fake narratives we're bombarded with.

I realize that Russia has improved somewhat but - the idea that that Russian Mafia is not still powerful and connected to the Oligarchs is naive.

Freedom of the press is not measured only in the number of corporations that own the press but also in what the Press is allowed to say.

The mainstream MSM in both US and Russia are quite controlled.

Because the United States wants Russian oil and natural gas where it is pissed off that Russia isn't one of its puppet vassal states it controls much like all nations in the E.U. are. I think the hope was with the collapse of the Soviet Union the E.U. would incorporate all of Russia, never happened of course.

As an American just know that not all of us hate or are aggressive towards Russia, it's our idiotic politicians. I very much like and respect the Russians.

Israel and Saudi Arabia are good buddies, makes sense since the prophet Muhammad came from a Jewish tribe in northern Saudi Arabia.

And the United States isn't a kleptocracy or plutocracy? That's like a black pot calling the other pot black.

If AIPAC and Israel has their way the United States will march all of its sons or daughters to the frontline in Iran. Christian Zionists of course will support it preaching support for the war in Sunday sermons because Jesus will come out of the sky riding on a pterodactyl signifying the second coming of Christ.

Protecting God's special chosen people don't you know fulfilling biblical prophecy....

The comma is the least of the translation problems.
