Sounds like fake news. China is more interested in controlling America than Russia is and always has been.

Agreed, I always wonder knowing what I know about information security how they are so sure and specific about the source. Unless someone is getting caught physically messing with information infrastructure at the source, its always implied that they have the technological ability to "HACK" a complicated secure infrastructure from the other side of the world (Which is hard), but are to stupid to hide their location/source?!?! Guess that's supposed to be intentional?

Yup, once the trace reach's a router where the sysop tells and inquirer to blow it out his butt, the buck stops right there ;) And gets even more complicated when it's a attack/operation set up is a dark one room crap hole in a third world country!

I agree- and most methods of hackery are untraceable to some nation state - so why not use on of the untraceable ones.

So the question then goes to motive - on both sides - say in the novichok case - it is not just Heir Putin who has access to that stuff - and would be a rather stupid way to assassinate someone and avoid self incrimination. Who knows what games are being played in the spy world - where folks get killed.

Then on the other side ? CIA/Pentagon propaganda - - not many dirty deeds the spooks have not done ..

but here is the funny thing .. Trump had zero to do with the Hack - and they knew this shortly after the investigation started. Should have been case closed at that point - as hindsight has now confirmed ..

Thus - maintaining the investigation required a tremendous amount of spin and propaganda. "Russian Collusion" - Not related to the Hack there wasn't .. and receiving info from the hack .. is quite legal .. and in fact benefited our electoral process .. yet .. that was not the spin .. was it.

"The Russians Harmed Our Electoral Process" was the narrative full on .. and Trump was in on it.

How does knowing the dirty deeds of a candidate - prior to the election - HARM our electoral process exactly. Was Hilly who was messing with Bernie .. Hilly and the DNC messing with our electoral process .. in an ironic Orwellian twist of fate.

Needed some big spin to keep the investigation going for years .. one that was case closed in the first weeks.

Untracable hacking is a misnomer. One can break into systems and obfuscate their location, but with enough forensics, the trace can be found.

    https://www.quora.com/How-is-some-hacking-untraceable
No hacking is truly untraceable. There are always telltale breadcrumbs left behind. The more you hack, the more breadcrumbs. So, if you hack only once, you might get away with it, but if you hack multiple times, you are likely to leave enough evidence to be “easily” traced. If you have a long running attack, e.g. a botnet, you are almost certainly going to get caught.

The question is more: does the person trying to do the tracing have the resources and access to follow up the leads.

Tor obfuscate, but isn't failproof. Plenty of kiddy porn providers have been caught even with the use of Tor and VPN. There's always a trace.

I do not know for sure if you are a Trump fan but just be advised that Trump fans think that Russia is an ally and that Russia does no wrong. Wrong they are!!

It is not certain that justice will ever prevail when it comes to theTrmpocity. he has escaped justice all of his life so we can hope that Karma catches up but there is no guarantee that justice will prevail over evil.

At some point it will finally dawn on some of us that in attempting to match wits with the official Russian intelligence agency, known as the "Federal Security Service" (FSB) we have a daunting task before us! To mash all the 'air bubbles' out of it, the Russians are SMARTER than we are, and have been so for at least the last ten years! The FSB is headed by a frighteningly intelligent man named Alexander Bortnikov, and it is doubtful that the U. S. has any big-wig in our wonderous 'alphabet agencies' who is his equal.

If we don't understand who and what we're up against, we don't even stand a chance of being able to 'hold our own' -- especially as we transition to a radical Democrat administration that will be more obsessed with 'inclusiveness', 'diversity', racial quotas, and figuring out which bathroom to use than the intense, labyrinthine MENTAL effort involved in "spy-versus-spy' espionage and counter-espionage....

Patterns. I supposed you could disguise the source, but like any bomb maker in Afghanistan, they all have distinctive traits.

The materials used and where they came from, the type of explosive and the weight, the way the wiring is set up, the way the pressure plate is designed, down to the type of tape they may have used or what type of battery that's rigged up.

The Trumpocity filled the governmental agencies with synchophants, rich donors, and those who kissed his butt. Trump insulted the heads of 16 Intell agencies because they warned him the Russian was interfering with our elections. It was obvious to us that Trumpocity's ego was wounded by even the insinuation that Russia was supporting him so he refused to accept the word of ourvintel agecies so he openly undermined them and agree with Putin. Remember Helsinki!

You are accusing the future Biden administration of being obcessed with which bathroom a homosexual or a so called trans human should use. You added that they will be obsessed with race and diversity. You accuse the future Biden administration of not paying attention to intelligence. So unless you are Nostradamus we need to wait and see .
We do not have to wait and see with the Trumpocity because we know that he not only did not care that Russia was attacking our de,mocracy but he even totally pizzed off our allies while kissing the butt of our enemies.Specifically Russia / Putin.
