The Russian language is losing. Good :)

"Russian has lost more ground than any other language over the past 20 years as newly independent former Soviet states have attempted to assert their linguistic sovereignty.

The fading influence of the tongue highlights the fading influence of Moscow amid efforts by Vladimir Putin, Russia’s president, to reassert the former superpower’s importance on the world stage with its military interventions in Ukraine and Syria".

English is the universal language, russian will be a minority language in Russia itself in less than 20 years!

One of the reasons for English to take off in Russia is that
the Russian people are so used to Russian being used for propaganda that
they know that if an article is written in English..... there is often at least some
    attempt at objectivity.

We feel pressure to give some credit when we feel it is deserved.........

Yes....and a lot of it was for propaganda purposes, many of the young people who attend colleges, universities, etc all study English with hopes of getting jobs outside of Russia.

And this English speaking world is good for me because I couldn't learn another language to save my life.
