Crimea was invaded and occupied illegally by Ukraine since 1994, and Russia helped free them so as to prevent genocide - as the Nazis had threatened. Russian troops never entered the Dombas but I'm sure they gave them humanitarian help.

Yesterday Biden called Putin for a meeting - I guess in desperation. According to Ukrainian accounts, the Russian build up will be completed by April 20, when there will be 110 thousand Russian troops surrounding Ukraine. With the arrival of the Caspian fleet and Baltic and Northern fleet, there are now 40 Russian ships and submarines in the Black Sea.

What is interesting is that Vladimir Putin will give an important speech in the Duma April 21, and expects the Duma to meet immediately afterwards to discuss it. Will it be an ultimatum to Kiev? Will the 2 Republics be annexed to Russia as they have requested many times?

I guess we'll have to wait and see.
