i never read RT, but this showed up on my google feed.

    https://www.rt.com/business/453988-mc21-plane-presentation-2019/amp/

Here is the Wikipedia link for the aircraft specifications.
    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Irkut_MC-21

My personal opinion is that, given the track record of the safety of Russian aircraft, they won’t be getting much orders from western airlines.

Would you take a flight on an aircraft made in Russia?

If it is admitted into our airspace and is certified by the FAA? Sure. Why would not you?

Certainly can't hurt to have a third competitor to Airbus and Boeing.

Soviet espionage gain the Russians vital intell on the Concord.
Their "Conkordski" release beat the Concord. It was a terrible
plane - unsafe and so noisy you needed ear muffs. But what was
funny was the Socialist aspect to it - because in theory there's no
upper and lower class in Communist countries (though there is)
the Russians couldn't charge extra for seats on this death trap.
So the wealthy couldn't fund the development, as happens in the
    West.

I doubt anyone asks what type of aircraft they are flying on... well before Boeing 737 Max incidents anyway... they were all considered safe as houses... oh wait, at the rate buildings are collapsing and fire hazards, think you're safer on an aircraft these days.

    Anyway... yeah sure I would.

You probably aren’t aware of Russia’s safety track record in aviation.

as if it was the only plane Soviets produced? as if the West had no 'terrible' planes? Concord eventually has been shelved, you do know?
it is ok as of lately while Boeings' not so much.

Moscow Aviation Salon and its MS-21 presentation were scheduled much long before the Boeing crashed in Ethiopia.
Only idiots can find any link between these two events.

Yes, Concord was shelved. Partially this was due to an accident.
It was a good plane, but well before its time.
I enjoy Russian jets - particularly the Sukhois, which I love to watch
at airshows. The Antonov is absolutely amazing, hard to believe that
thing can even get off the ground.

Putin came to my country of Australia and promised the then Prime
Minister Tony Abbot that he will not obstruct the investigation into
the downing of an airliner over eastern Ukraine. Putin has to date
not honored that promise. I want the international federation, or
whatever body is responsible for global flight, to remove Russia's
access to international airspace, airports and technology until this
    matter is resolved.

Ever heard of Yugo? If you’re traveling in any Russian made vehicle I hope you have a massive life insurance policy.

Really? I am surprised. Thanks for that.
At an airshow we all piled into an Antonov. By counting length and width,
multiplied by height I reckon 2,000 people could stand in one of those
things if you provided some floors.

    Yep, located in Kiev.
Even still, I wouldn’t fly russian or Ukrainian jets, even though Ukraine has a much better safety record than Russia.

Concorde was shelved because of the costs. It was so expensive to fly that plane that last several flights the planes were nearly empty.
Unlike TU-144, Concorde didn’t need a clearance for takeoff from manufacturers engineering team.

Last time an airliner killed everyone on board in the US was on 9/11/2001. Last time everyone died in an aircraft in Russia was like what? Last year?
And you dare to compare your garbage to real quality?

Antonov was a Soviet company founded in 1946 by Russian engeneer Oleg Antonov in Novosibirsk. In 50s it moved to Kiev. Antonov suffered of big misfortune - after collapse of USSR it was left in independent Ukraine.Today the remnants of unlucky Antonov do not produce airplanes.

    Nice try.

SEATTLE — NASA is considering buying two additional seats on Soyuz spacecraft to ensure a continued American presence on the International Space Station amid worries about additional delays in commercial crew flights.

In a presolicitation notice filed Feb. 13, NASA announced it was considering contracting with the Russian state space corporation Roscosmos for two Soyuz seats, one on a mission launching in the fall of 2019 and the other in the spring of 2020. The notice was first reported by NASASpaceFlight.com.

The additional seats would ensure that NASA astronauts can remain on the station after the end of this year, when NASA’s current access to Soyuz seats runs out.
