You're right. The optics in the partisan world of politics would be too high a price to bear to do the right thing.

Seriously, if Justice Ginsburg is unable to function and fulfill the obligations of the office it's right and just to replace her. She serves the American people and the law. If she cannot do that then the American people and the law are going unserved.

In a rational world the Senate's solumn duty would be to act. But this is political theater, where the easy display of emotion and virtuous positioning to serve political expedient is the default, and the hard decisions, acts that the elected officials are duty and oath bound to preform as the People's representatives, aren't even accomplished much less contimplated. Thesee are weak men a women with no grit or honor.

Relax she took a few sick days. Far far far less than you have taken. She will be back in no time

I will not wish ill health on anyone.

That said, I will be relieved when RBG no longer sits on the court.

She has no respect for the Constitution (by her own admission) and as such has no business serving in any legal capacity IMHO.

At least 10 this go around....there were a few days back in December too. Me? I've taken two half days for an illness. But I'm young, don't have cancer, don't have a habit of falling down and breaking bones....I am not gonna lie though...I have taken a nap before...usually after a big lunch

Maybe when I'm her age and have cancer...but then again I'd likely be retired and enjoying my life and family. I also wouldn't want to burden my coworkers and business since I'd be in such poor health with the lung cancer, broken bones etc

Like I said, at 85....I'll be happily retired. If I had lung cancer and a falling down problem, keeping me from doing the work, and burdening my coworkers and such....I'd step down.

and I'm 38, but I like the idea of you thinking I'm youthful

Just the United States of America. She's a very good writer, it's just that she's suppose to be giving legal opinions and misses the mark

I would not say that if I were you

I’d guess she has less than a year to live

    Maybe 6 months

She survived the cancer but will be weaker afterward
