Richard Spencer (the unabashed white supremacist and all-around scumbag) just won the PR battle in Florida over his speech at the University of Florida in Gainesville. The governor declared a state of emergency in Alachua county (county that Gaineseville is located in), and everybody is panicking over his speech. He, unfortunately, won because of the silly over-reaction. I will admit, if it were a white supremacist rally, I'd think the state of emergency would be appropriate, but it's not. It's a speech by a single scumbag.

Nice emotional hysteria. He's a "scumbag" and his speaking is a "state of emergency" because a white man dares to reject the multiculturalism and diversity programs that are designed to destroy him, his race, and his country, and this is coming from a self-proclaimed "conservative".

    Sad times, indeed.

We and the authorities, are afraid that the KKK and NAzis have been TOOOOOOOOOOOOO emboldened by Bannon and Trump.

They are getting militant, and one step away from threatening to involve firearms. Drive them out early, or deal with ridding your communities of them.

That is why it's called Flori-duh! Keep in mind....this is the state that elected a Medicare fraudster for governor and calls itself the "Sunshine State" but rejects solar power initiatives.

Wow, did you just say that??!! We don't agree on a lot of things but I've never seen you be this......radical. "because a white man dares to reject the multiculturalism and diversity programs that are designed to destroy him, his race, and his country" You actually believe that?!

A lot of New Yorkers seem to really like Florida. They retire there to enjoy the low taxes. The very things they advocated for in New York.

I think the thing that bothered me was the whole "he invited himself" to speak at the U of FL which seems somewhat gratuitous. Naturally, the school then has to figure out how to hyperventilate, so they do, and it ends up costing the folks around the U of FL a half million is extra police cost to "police" the fake hyperventilation.

Ask yourself this question. Why does the U of FL have an open policy for inviting anyone (ostensibly except this guy Richard Spencer) to speak on their campus then at all? What benefit or more importantly, what risk do they themselves inflict on themselves because of this policy?

What, for example, should happen if the U of FL were asked by the head of ISIS to speak there?

Which means what exactly? I can think of all manner and number of those I'd consider to be in the same category. Are you then advocating that my personal opinion then sets the benchmark for public discourse on the public square as you seem to be asserting for yourself?

He sieg heils. He willingly associates with nazis and promotes the same beliefs. He's a nazi. Jesus christ, quit normalizing this ****.

The guy is most famous for being a nazi and getting punched a lot. I refuse to apologize for the fact that spencer getting socked is hilarious and karmic

Richard B Spencer is not a bigot - he does however support the idea of positive identity for while people as opposed to the the constant negative blathering against white people from moonbat nation. He does not advocate segregation or discrimination of any kind - including the ongoing attacks against white people.

He asks "Why is it OK to promote Black Lives Matter or La Raza while denigrating white people"

He is a scumbag. I don't agree that his speaking is a state of emergency. Spencer is a racist fomenting racism. Conservatives aren't racists, and we condemn racism.

I'm in Florida, and I'm working about 400 yards from a huge (65 MW) solar installation.

Head of ISIS would have problems getting a Visa.....

U of F is a public university. IMHO, it's right that they give the public a right to speak. I'm just irritated with how my state is panicking and giving him more exposure.

I agree he has a right to speak. That doesn't make him any less of a scumbag. I'm an actual believer in the 1st Amendment, and think it should protect offensive views as well as those I agree with. That said, I'm irritated that my governor overreacted to the situation.

True. It begs the question though of the usefulness and the thoughtfulness of the policy in question here. Think about it logically though. Initially, the U of FL denied his ability to speak there. Call it liberal fascism. Then, when it became clear they were actually demonstrating this fascism, they recanted, and then "allowed" him to speak, but hyperventilating about it, creating or fomenting the potential for actual physical danger on their campus. That seems purposeful, as in they purposefully are attempting the create the very danger that they seem unwilling to except on their own campus. That seems self defeating at best.

Any time people we don't agree with are allowed a forum to express their ideas in public without reprisals from the government or others, WE ALL WIN.

It is astounding to me that U.S. citizens don't get this. Please read this book, folks, before it's too late:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Darkness_at_Noon

    or at least reread 1984.

Yes, you're a left-wing supporter of violence on political opponents. That's well established. Interesting how you feign moral high ground against "Nazis" like Spencer, who isn't advocating violence.

I don't think all conservatives are on board with being demographically replaced by left-wing policies, like you clearly are. But good luck selling that boomer conservativism to the "New Americans". I'm sure they'll listen.

Politics is mired in violence. Every decision has violent outcomes. I only advocate defensive violence against genocide advocates. You unapologetically associate with genocide advocates and claim to be nonviolent because you think street fights are crass.
