Safe House Act- Something that will actually lower gun violence.

A court of law is a gun free zone yet the bailiff is armed..A public school is a gun free zone yet there is an armor officer on duty, I could go on and on but you know..

The good news is that the number of schools having armed guards is on the rise.

 

Does no good when the armed officer runs and hides..

 

If I were governor I would send in the state militia to go arrest the Sheriff's who refuse to enforce the law, and at gun point, tell any of there posse who refuse to enforce the law will be arrested and jailed as well.

Oh and any county who had a sheriff stand up to the state law, would have their right to elect the sheriff revoked and have an anti gun sheriff appointed until suck time as the people of the county learn their place.

The counties who obey the state on gun control, would be given more freedom to be basically independent of the state (like mini states) while the less populated pro gun counties changed into districts under the direct control of the state central government.

 

I like when these threads pop up. It tells everyone how crazy the left really is.

 

Obey or cease to exist as an entity is what the 8 anti gun states need to start telling the conservative rebel counties.

Step 1- Allow the governor to appoint half of the county legislators in rebel counties.
Step 2- Remove the ability to elect their Sheriffs, and let the governor appoint them
Step 3- Give the Governor the power to veto rebel county laws.
Step 4- Give the state militia arrest powers in the counties that are rebels.

After a few years they should be coming back pleading and begging for their local rule again and promising to obey the state and not to file challenges in federal court. At which time the tamed rebel counties would be given back their self rule.

 

Pretty weak rebuttal. So is this one instance some sort of common occurrence or just a desperate move to save face

 

What about those calling to arm teachers? Everything is about fighting violence with violence instead of fighting violence with prevention.

So one Man panics and you think this constitutes a normal reaction from all? I think you need a little more understanding of how facts work in conjunction with ALL the pertinent data clearly available on this one area of concern

 

So you think a campaign to disarm or a con to dupe the country out of their right to bear arms is actually more viable means to deter violence? What do you hope for, scaring people with toothless threats LOL

 

Toothless? How long would you last before you would vote yes on a referendum stating that your county agrees to obey the laws of the state and not file federal law suits, if your county was under direct defacto control of the governor and state militia?

Also who goes to jail if the wrong kid is shot? The teacher or the stupid state legislature?

Lot's of luck on that one given that most of the national guard are themselves gun owners and hunters.

By the way not only does your proposed law violate the 2nd amendment, it violates the fourth and likely a couple of others as well.

 

It also violates common sense and if ever tried would get the person who came up with the idea imprisoned, if not hung from a tree.

 

Naw having really stupid ideas is not generally a jailable offense.

Stupid is one thing but before messing with peoples rights it's a good idea to make sure they are disarmed first and that's is where the trouble will begin.

 

Would you not drop your weapon if confronted by the state militia? or would you stand your ground and point your gun at them?

 

Totally incorrect, they take an oath to defend the Constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic, as such it would be you they turn on and trying such anti-Constitutional measures is a good way to find yourself in prison or wearing a blindfold on with you back against a pockmarked wall.

You know for a guy who claims to be so intelligent you are really uneducated when it comes to the U.S. Constitution.

 

I am the militia and it would be you who would be dropping any firearms or weapons or be dropped for refusing to do so.

 

The state militia is bound to the state not to the federal government. Thus state militia not federal

 

So, we start firearms training at- Two- Three years of age, or earlier?
And if I remember correctly, more people are killed with hammers than with the so-called assault weapons. We need to insure every family member understands hammer safety too.
More people are killed by cars than with guns, so same with cars- unless everybody can prove they are safe with cars, nobody in the family gets one.

And if you aren't capable of teaching your kids how to behave and respect the rules- you shouldn't have kids. Make that a law. There is one that would have great benefits.

Nature has raised millions of generations of thriving species, which would indicate that we should learn from the example- but we pay no attention.
In nature, if you are inherently careless, lazy or lacking the capacity to survive- you don't. That is why those who do survive thrive, pass on the best genes and the species adapts and get stronger with each generation. Nature doesn't breed in stupidity and weakness, nor tolerate it.

Even the basic rancher knows that you breed in the best qualities and breed out the worst.
But when it comes to humans- we breed the worst, criticize the best...... So, we must be- smart???

 

Matters not they will defend the Constitution not the state or some tyrant.
