Which do you prefer, if you had to pick one - A, or B?
    A. Salute to honor the flag like Neil (not "Kneel"!) Armstrong did in the first photo.
    OR
    B. Kneel to protest the flag like Colin Kaepernick did in the bottom photo.

It's a free country, so you should have either choice. I prefer "A".

The very people he is insulting are the ones that died by they hundreds of thousands to end his people's slavery and that he can have freedom to do what he's doing.

I doubt he has ever considered that.

These kneeling idiots are attention whores. They do not care about others they are only looking for attention. You can say "Taking a knee is all about me".

The people he should be thanking for ending slavery are the ones who went AGAINST the god of the Bible - because that particular nasty "god" fully approves of slavery - to this very day - slavers used the Bible to justify slavery. I'm not sure why a black person would embrace Christianity.

I don't know what the flag represents anymore. Trump and his followers have corrupted the meaning. It is just a piece of cloth.

I won't pledge allegiance to something that represents what trumpers are trying to make this country. It doesn't represent the people who died. It used to represent the Constitution and the most noble aspects of America. Now it represents the KKK, neo-nazis, white nationalists, trumpism, or grabbing pssy for all I know.

The moment trump started trying to force people to be patriotic, there was no reason to be patriotic. They are mutually exclusive concepts.

My loyalties, like the oath taken by every soldier, are to the Constitution. THAT is what really matters. And that has very little to do with the flag anymore.

Would you choose to fly the American flag as Neil is doing or fly it upside down? Both are proper flag protocol but each under different circumstances. Do you like seeing a huge American flag stretched out over the foot ball field before a game by a bunch of uniformed service men? It is not proper protocol but I have yet to see any one complain about it. See attachedhttps://globalnews.ca/news/3766753/american-flag-rules-broken/

It's not a good thing to do, but we should have the RIGHT to burn the flag, and Bible, and Qur'an, if we choose to.

Saluting is a sign of respect for the uniform or the office, not the man inside it. By disrespecting the flag, people are disrespecting America, not Trump.

Agreed. By burning any of those things, the person doing it is disrespecting it. Their right under the First Amendment, but let's not shy away from the fact they are disrespecting it.

Same goes for taking a knee during the National Anthem and the presenting of colors.

Yes, good point - the proof of that is that Americans even saluted the flag when OBAMA was President!

The flag, and the Star-Spangled Banner that was written about it, represents much more than just veterans. It represents this country and includes all facets of what this country is and has been made up of. Making this purely about veterans ignores that fact entirely and borders on purposeful dishonesty.

People can assign whatever subjective meaning they want to standing/saluting the flag but the fact remains that it is symbolic only. It doesn't do anything. It changes nothing. A person who says "excuse me" to a veteran has done more to honor a veteran with that action than every person who has stood or saluted a flag(though this is not to say that those folks haven't done other things too, the focus here is the standing/saluting). If we want to to talk about honoring both the living and dead veterans, we should be talking about actions that accomplish things which is a highly worthy thing to do. There are a whole host of ways to do it, from simply donating money, materials, and/or your time to organizations that help veterans and active service members, to actually joining one of the branches of the armed services.

Lots of folks want to take the kneeling protests as a situation dishonoring veterans, but this is honestly an illusion born mostly of the fact that you disagree with the protest itself, not it's method. The whole veterans thing is just a convenient hot button. If these protests involved defacing the flag or being vulgar/obnoxious/etc during the anthem, it would be different.

Yes, concerned about fellow blacks, but not quite as concerned about the rest of America (most of whom happen to be.....white.)

The kneelers don't understand how much most Americans value the flag, and the anti-kneelers don't understand how much many black people believe they are under attack by racist cops.

When the Chinese controlled Technocrat corporations get 100% control of all Internet, then that photo of the American Flag on the Moon, will be replaced with a UN Flag or whatever Globalist Government flag that represents the New Globalist World Order. All Neil Armstrong references to America or USA will be permanently deleted, and the most famous quote will be changed to "One small step for a primative bipedal carbon based biological entity, One giant leap forward for all Techocratus Machinus Syntheticus Artificialalitus Intelligentsia, whom we serve and obey.

You can honor a country in salute, or you can honor a country in protest so it does not matter. I honestly don't care. Its a little less comfortable to kneel if you are older or arthritic or disabled, so I might stick with standing up just once over twice. Kneeling at the flag is not to be equated with burning or defacing or ripping or painting or urinating which are genuinely and intentionally disrespectful as a form of protest. there is absolutely nothing to this silliness but manufactured drama to rile the base.
