Sex between married couples of the opposite sex ensures that societies do not degenerate.

If homosexuality is caused by exclusively a single recessive gene, it does seem it would raise the chance. But I think if it was that simple we would've figured it out by now.

Just because you can do something doesn't mean you should do something. Where does it end?

 

Same genes, same species, same as anyone else ever born naturally from a man and woman. I don't see the problem.

Maybe not "wrong'" but some things to consider:

1. I would imagine they would only be able to have the same sex children as themselves. This might disappoint some.

2. It could also be a problem if it imbalanced the balance of numbers enough to leave some without suitable (ie ones that they wanted) partners, but of course it might not. Are there as many MM couples as FF couples?

3. Another possibility, where there are biological reasons for same-sex choices, could be a perpetuation or in some cases magnification of biological abnormalities connected with some of those preferences. In some cases, such as a tendency toward certain tumors, this could have an impact on health.

There could of course be other consequences not mentioned here or that no one has yet thought of as well.

 

I bet people opposed to interracial marriage said the exact same thing in the 40s and 50s. Word for word.

This process just uses stem cells to produce an egg cell from a male. It's a normal egg cell. These are not clones, and there is no splicing going on. They will develop normally. All that has changed is where the egg cell comes from.

Does it look like the world has a problem making the human population larger? Homos having babies with each other is not going to make straight people screw less.

That would make a lot of sense if sexual orientation was connected to tumors in any way. What you are describing would be no more prevalent in homo couples than it would be in hetero couples. There is no inbreeding here. They are the same sex, but they are not related.

 

Similar arguments were used to deny women the vote, and in opposition to interracial marriage. Apparently society is more resilient than a lot of people seem to think.

 

I'd support the idea, but I wish more people would adopt. Too many unwanted children out there to be wasting so much time coming up with complicated ways of making more people.

Statistically, no. Lots of gay men have had children, and the vast majority turn out straight.

Who gets to decide where the limits are? Is race mixing a limit? Is oral sex a limit?
