Under Sharia law a man has to support his children even after divorce.

Same as under secular law everywhere else, I wonder how well they enforce child support payment requirements under Sharia law, in the US these requirements are quite well enforced.

Women have has rights under Islam for over a thousand years. The right to buy and sell and own property in their own name.. The right to inheritance. The right to divorce, child support and maintenance.. The right to an education. The right to write their marriage contract.. The right to child custody.. with some restrictions on raising little boys after age seven years if the husband wants them.

Yes, we all know Sharia is very beneficial for Muslim women, who in fact are its strongest advocates, the west would do well if it adopted Sharia laws, at tleast the parts that cover gender equality.

I wouldn't go that far. There is no perfect system and no religion that has cured the problem.. You still have domestic violence in the US and Saudi Arabia and everywhere else.

Despite the rare instances of domestic violence in Saudi Arabia, we all know this is extremely rare among Muslims who are culturally the most loving and respectful of women and their rights, moreover, Sharia law imposes severe penalties on any Muslim who beats his wife.

They don't have as much domestic violence as we have here in the US, but they do have it.

The advice is that it you must beat your wive tie a scarf to the end of a miswak and beat her. LOL.

There are five schools of Sharia law.. and it is not followed absolutely in most Arab countries. Do you follow Biet Din?

In the oh-so-evil, deeply Islamic Iran women were and are always allowed to drive a car.

Oh yes ... and these are female fans of the Iranian Sovver national team yesterday at the World Cup match in Russia against Portugal:

    upload_2018-6-26_12-43-1.png

Where are the black-hooded Iranian women, who, according to many Americans, only exist because they are forced to do so? Ehm .... we'll keep quiet about that, eh?

Iranian women have always been stylish and there have been times when wearing the Chador was strictly enforced.

Curently there are protesters in Iran yelling "Death to Palestinians"..

Five schools or six .. it does not matter.
All of them support anti women's rights and stone gays.
One of the schools even supports cutting hands like they often do in Saudi Arabia.

I know that most Persian women are beautiful and modern under their Burkas.
I saw in my own eyes Iranians in Turkey drinking wine and wearing bikini near the beach.
In Iran it's different .. The Ayatullas and their revolution guards do not allow that with a firm brutal fist !

Totally off topic, and absolutely nothing to do with what you just wrote, but I wonder if Stockholm Syndrome is something that only afflicts women? I've never heard a guy being described as having Stockholm Syndrome. Your thoughts?

This is a very small action and a political stunt for political purposes from the country that is the cradle of extremist Islamist ideology and a society that is one of the most oppressive on the planet - if not the most.

From the nation that has brought us - Taliban, ISIS, Al Qaeda, Boko Haram, Al Shabaab and bunch of other groups of the same ilk all over the world - and the extremist ideology that is the driving force for terrorism all over the world - we now salute this nation for letting some women drive - probably under very restrictive conditions.

From the country that "HATES" individual liberty - even more than the Third Reich, and Stalin's Russia - the nation that was founded on the principle that "Individual liberty is above the legitimate authority of Gov't" salutes.

Now - that said - I come from a perspective where international sovereignty should be respected. If the people under El Saud want to have their religious theocratic totalitarian society .. they are welcome to it. This does not mean I am going to salute them for this political clown show.
