SCHWARTZENEGGER'S MESSAGE TO RUSSIANS

Worth listening to. Arnold puts forth an earnest, and eloquent appeal to Russian soldiers, deluded citizens, brave protestors, & even Putin, himself. Because of his large Russian fan base, and connections with Russia, his words could actually make a difference (assuming the awareness of them, becomes widely enough known).

The full video is 9 minutes, and the most impactful one to watch. But, for those in a real hurry, here is a 1 minute version:

This sort of hashtag diplomacy where we try to shame nations into doing what we want is and will be completely ineffective. Russia will respond to concrete actions, not this.

 

Agree. He's not just a pretty face, with a still fairly thick accent.

 

The most meaningful appeals are to the Russian troops & Russian people. Those are, in fact, the only vehicles, through which any better resolution will come. I'm sure that Arnold had no illusions, that Putin would actually listen to him; that's why he directed the fewest words, in that direction. But let me guess: you came to your "conclusion," without watching either video, right? I would not classify this as an attempt to "shame" Russians; only to tell them the truth.


Maybe, had you watched the video, you would have some idea of that, of which you speak.

Kudos to Arnold. I can only hope his message gets through to some Russian people. Apparently Putin follows Arnold on twitter so he should get a chance to see it.

This might have some influence on some Russians, but still, celebrities, even good celebrities, can still be brainwashed and influenced by biased information.

Listening to something like this should only alert a Russian listener that there might be another side to the issue.

His movies were very popular in Russia, but today are no longer so much and those movies are old. Most Russians will probably not hear this message.

That is a fair observation, a point that deserves to be made, although of very little actual relevance to this story.

Schwartzenegger is more brainwashed by Progressive Hollywood and the anti-Putin news media than having any "fascist" ties.
(By this I am not implying that the opinion he has is not true, just that all his sources that he is undoubtedly forming his opinions from are inherently unreliable, so it is to be questioned whether the opinion he expresses can be seen as having any value)

 

And RT Russian State News is more reliable? This would be a brain- dead opinion. Did you know that the Editor- in- Chief of RT just quit, in protest, saying that this was not what their fathers and granddads had died for-- but I guess that's Western propaganda, right? And the Russian News anchorwoman, who just told her viewers, on air, that they were being lied to-- she was brainwashed by the West, somehow? I guess that's why she, I think, has now disappeared: the benevolent government of Vladimir Putin, must be helping her to regain her sanity and clear-eyed focus.

Obviously, between a single- source for information, and an almost countless number of sources, the multiple, varied views are, by nature, reason, and all common sense, going to be harder to control, and so are going to be more truthful, more accurate, and less biased.

It is not a point, to be made, because, first of all, Arnold damns the Nazis and what they did, to the world, and to their own followers, including his father, as a soldier in their army.

Secondly, Mr. I can't trust the Media of the World, you do take the word of some anonymous guy, online, calling himself Destroyer of Illusions? I think it's time to reassess, how you evaluate your sources; because we have no proof that the Ukrainian GOVERNMENT/ADMINISTRATION is fascist. To the contrary, as Schwarzenegger points out, Zelenskyy is Jewish, and he had 3 of his relatives were killed by the NAZIS. Where is Destroyer of Illusions' proof, or your basis, Kaz, for believing the "fascist" stories about Ukraine? Have you spent any time there, yourself?

Good on Arnold. Maybe he reaches some people. Worst case scenario, nothing changes. Nothing lost by the attempt though.

 

Arnold has been doing this periodically lately. He made a similar video about what happened on 1/6, several on the Covid Pandemic and the rise of Asian Hate, and a few others. It's a very good, inspiring video.

 

While I agree that anyone can be influenced by biased information, including everyone on this forum, Arnold is much more than just a celebrity. He was a world class athlete, governor of the largest US state, and has a huge business empire. He even served in the Austrian army. I mean if you are willing to accept the opinions of a politician or successful businessman he is all of that and more.

 

Arnold is a nice guy, but we all know he did not become successful through his intellect.

He launched his business ventures and political career with his celebrity status.

There is really little reason to view his opinion on this topic as more important than anyone else's.

 

Basically he is what Trump pretended to be but wasn’t.
