Science Uncovers 1500 Genetic Differences Between Men and Women | CBN News More than 1500 genetic differences exist between men and women, beyond their sexual makeup. That's according to a new study by a group of researchers and scientists. "Overall, sex-specific genes are mainly expressed in the reproductive system, emphasizing the notable physiological distinction between men and women," the scientists found. "However, scores of genes that are not known to directly associate with reproduction were also found to have sex-specific expression (e.g., the men-specific skin genes)," they added. The study, titled "The landscape of sex-differential transcriptome and its consequent selection in human adults," also found that there is much more involved in the idea of changing one's gender to the opposite sex than just surgery and hormone treatment. Researchers Moran Gershoni and Shmuel Pietrokovski of the Weizmann Institute's Molecular Genetics Department conducted the study. They mapped out thousands of genetic samples comprising 53 tissues from 357 men and 187 women ages 20 to 79. "Our results can facilitate the understanding of diverse biological characterisists in the context of (the male and female) sex," the researchers state in their conclusion. The study was conducted to provide a comprehensive overview of the sex-differential transcriptome and its importance to human evolution and human physiology in health and in disease. The sad part is why these studies need be done at all. Because there are those out there that want to deny these differences.
They aren't real scientist. Scientist have feelings and base their studies off what people perceive to be the truth. There are more than 2 genders, and they need to start studying those genders too. And men and women are equal in everything.
Sounds Agenda driven to Me. Lots of differences between Men and Women. However, when someone can show why Men have nipples and mammary glands that can be activated, and other subtle nuances yet to be discovered, the idea of gender contruct is not as cut and dry as Agenda driven people out there want others to believe. Truth is, there are Transgender individuals out there, and only relatively recently are people talking about it. Rather than explain the origins of Gender, why not talk about understanding and how Bigotry hinders human development and how society needs to evolve further.

Yes, their are differences between Male and Female, however, there are also many commonalities between both, and undefined as yet crossover between genders as yet undefined and undiscovered.
Well obviously. The genetic difference between males and females is a single chromosome, out of 46 of them. Where men have a Y-chromosome, women have an X. And if you're Down syndrome, you have 47.

Yes, and if I remember well, 99 % of our genes are alike to the one of chimps. So even if it's only one chromosome, it can make huge differences.
