Now this is interesting. It seems that humans are psychic after all. Our brains are just suppressing those abilities. All that's needed to activate those abilities is to apply a temporary injury to the brain. Now for the ethical dilemma. Do we burn out parts of our brain to become psychics? I'm sure that governments and intelligence agencies will be looking for volunteers. Of course, the ruthless governments of the world are going to force their people to undertake such injuries in order to take advantage of such powers. But what should we do in a free and open society??? Scientists discover all humans can read minds... and how you can tap into telepathic abilities | Daily Mail Online
So THATS why my ex knew I was cheating on her when she had absolutely no evidence of it. I only wish I had known I was cheating on her... If I'ma be blamed for something, I should at least have had the fun of doing it... Seriously though. This concerns me. " 'Individuals with neurological or reversible rTMS induced frontal lesions may represent a useful group for detection and replication of this phenomenon.' The left medial middle frontal region plays a critical role in higher brain functions. Scientists have found that this area of the frontal lobe contributes to executive functioning, which includes planning, making decisions, and working towards our goals. It also appears to help people focus their attention and suppress irrelevant or inappropriate impulses. Now, Freedman suggests the left medial middle frontal region may be suppressing much more than human urges. " I am immediately suspicious of research suggesting that the key to unlocking superpowers is to become less attentive and more impulsive. That IS NOT the road to a better humanity. That is the road to more SLAVERY. People being led around by their emotions is the antithesis to civilization ...regardless of whether or not they can move things around with their mind. If you think emotionally unstable people with guns are a problem, how bout emotionally unstable people who can mind-splode your heart? No thx.
I know the topic subject of Psi research is a big warning flag, and this is the study. And normally I don't take care of heeding scientific studies because usually they never go anywhere. However, this seems to be a realistic news story because it was carried in The Daily Mail and it's a respected media outlet. While I agree that some skepticism is in order, it might also be the case that skepticism becomes denial. And so, one might miss things that are otherwise major discoveries. I noticed you didn't provide an opinion on how you feel about this if it is the case that it's real?
The way I think about it, it's part of the recent movement of disclosure of many things including the existing employment of psychics in secret. There just needed to be a way to slowly ease people onto the upcoming reveal while making it seem like a natural process. The need for brain lesions to activate it is kind of scary though. But it also seems to be a natural part of everyone's (suppressed) abilities and not only for a selected few who are "special."
What do you think of the idea that getting fluoride out of the human water supply and adding certain other nutrients to our diet could stimulate our PINNEAL gland and make us rather "psychic" within months? www.msm-info.com/ seems to be a good way to begin to get a lot of fluoride out of our cells..... Could this idea be related to catapulting Robert F. Kennedy Jr. into the office of POTUS in 2028? http://www.politicalforum.com/index...-robert-f-kennedy-jr-be-potus-in-2028.622780/
The Daily Mail a "respected media outlet"? Regardless, the reason why psi/psychic/psionic abilities are fake, is that physics and biology don't support it. At all. How would telepathy and telekinesis even work? The human brain does not pump out enough electrical energy to have it scanned more than a few inches away from the skull, plus humans do not possess any organ that would be sensitive enough to pick up even those transmissions. If we did, we could actually be able to sense electrical fields all the time. Maybe the power is an active scan, like radar, except we don't have any organ that can send out any sort of energy field and than pick up its return. Also, what type of energy would it use? There are only four universal forces, gravity, electromagnetism, the strong force, and the weak force. None of those would be capable of "reading" a mind. What about telekinesis? While all four universal forces can move matter, gravity is too weak, the strong force and weak force have too short of a range (10^-15 meters and less), and the electromagnetic force would require too much energy as photons are massless. From an evolution standpoint, why would we evolve these abilities only to have them not be accessible? Natural selection would most definitely have selected for psi abilities if they gave a evolutionary advantage so why do they need to be "activated"? Plus, if they were not being used, wouldn't they slowly be discarded over the millennia? As much as I love psi abilities in my fiction, they do not exist in the real world.
Dennis, My youngest brother, when we were kids growing up, had terrible tooth decay because we drank well water instead of street water. No Floride. In recent years, I discovered that there's toothpaste that comes with Floride in it to brush your teeth with, not drink it down, but my brother's first set of teeth were all fillings from lack of that fluoride in the water. I don't recommend it.
Well, if our brains are transceivers, that is they send and receive information, but are not the source of our consciousness, then we have a mind outside of our bodies that doesn't appear in the universe but may have the ability to interact with it behind the scenes. While merely a blip on the radar, the physicists have begun to suggest that maybe consciousness is another layer to the universe. Not only that, but the medical community has begun to reveal that the dying seems to have experiences at the end of life and perhaps the universe is not a cold, uncaring, nihilism place after all. The medical community just hid this from the living because of a culture of denial that came about during the scientific revolution.
That is an interesting idea that I have never exactly read before. There are better ways to stop tooth decay than fluoride. If I remember correctly one of them was called Basic H or something like that.
About two months ago I met an amazing woman at a church prayer group who asked for prayer for her bad health and an upcoming operation. Last week I heard that she had an operation and flatlined on the operating table but as she saw the light and went toward the light two angels met her and told her to go back because "the saints are praying for you." She is eighty or so years old but I am expecting to hear great things about her efforts in the near future.
I think you may be in the wrong forum. This is the science forum, not the religion forum. Unless you can offer proof that, one, our brains are transceivers, two, that our consciousness exists outside our bodies, and three, other universes exist, this is not science. As for the universe being cold, uncaring nihilism, you are partially correct. It is indeed cold with an average temperature of -454.8° F, and since the universe has no consciousness, it is technically uncaring, but the universe cannot be nihilistic because nihilism is a belief, which requires a consciousness.
But it doesn't take an injury. With time and practice most people can learn to "read". We do it all the time but, as you say, we suppress the abilities. We tell ourselves "that was quite a coincidence!" or "it was a lucky hunch". But I know it's more than that. I met an organization of psychics who were offering classes to teach people to do it. These psychics were amazing in their abilities. And they taught over a dozen others to "read" successfully while I was associating with them for a year.
