    http://larrybrownsports.com/footbal...olin-kaepernick-workout-anthem-protest/438159

Seattle is refusing to workout Colin Kaepernick because he refuses to stand for the anthem. The NFL is clearly taking measures to stop the plunge in ratings. Seattle (arguably the most progressive NFL team) refusing to work him out is suggesting that NFL owners are fed up with the protests.

Eric Reid, 2nd person to take a knee with Kaepernick, is now stating publicly that he will stand for the anthem for a contract.

Seattle also has a QB in his prime who hasn't missed a game in 6 years in the league... but Kap is about done anyway, political stance or no political stance... no team wants to take on that headache if he cannot add anything to their active roster....

Would have been REAL interesting if a star player, like a Russell Wilson or LaVeon Bell, would have been the one who started this thing?? REAL interesting...

Kaepernick was not working out for initial starting position. He understands he's working out for a backup.

Nobody likes a sulker. Kap was sulking on the sidelines because he thought he was better than Smith and when he got busted, he lied and said he was protesting racism. All he attracted were a bunch of other ignorant flops that won't make it anywhere in life after football.

He can just sue them. That is, unless there was already something in the stated rules and contracts agreements requiring that they stand.

All the money and none of the hits.

Any nation that must compel allegiance deserves none.

This Reid character clearly has no conviction in his cause, and I hope he DOESN'T get a contract. If one is going to go on an America hating adventure, they should at least have the courage to stick with it. What a sell out...

    sue them for what? lol
They don't have to sign anyone.

What civil law are you claiming they violated? They never claimed that the contract would be that he HAD to stand.

    Lol alt leftists

You know he's already suing the NFL right?

I think after week 3 or 4 last season players pretty much stopped the anthem protests because they already responded to Trump's message. Although I've noticed other players who kneeled for the anthem, like Michael Bennett, didn't have much trouble getting signed by other teams in free agency.

Forced patriotism - just another step on the road to an authoritarian government.

So much for righties being the party of small government. No, they want to mandate patriotism.

Oh and "all that money" goes to his agent, he's lost his DRR check being cut, and he has a multi million dollar house he has to pay for.

Anyone who thinks he's rich is hilarious

They already signed him, right? And he will win the law suit unless they had a preexisting requirement that they stand.

    You cannot impose requirements retroactively.

No crap. Teams will sign people like Bennett who assault handicapped women if they are good enough at the game.

    Remember Ray Lewis?

And the idea that you can force someone to be patriotic is certainly worthy of a SC challenge. This flies in the face of the First Amendment. But righties don't care. The flag is more important that what it actually represents.

That is called faux patriotism. It is how people like Hitler come into power.

Okay, I thought he was signed. The it boils down to strictly a 1st Amendment argument.

So the Seahawk is not forcing Kaepernick to stand in order to get a contract?

    HAHAHAHA

He's not banned from the NFL. Teams don't have to sign him. They don't have to list a SINGLE reason for not signing anyone.

Are you new to how freedoms work?

    LOL

So I can deny someone a job if they are patriotic?

Can all liberal companies deny jobs to anyone who supports trump?

The NFL isn't a government program, its a private organization. They can set standards for their players if they choose and it has nothing to do with authoritarian government. Now it this was say, a public school punishing students for prayer or something that would authoritarian government, as schools are publicly funded...

Why do you keep responding to imaginary statements I never made? Have you been drinking or something?

You cannot force someone to be patriotic as a job requirement. If you stop LOLing long enough to engage your brain, you might understand the argument.

I love how you're pretending to be a lawyer. It's hilarious.

The contract (that doesn't EXIST) has nothing about him standing or kneeling for any anthem.

What has Seattle done to "force" anything? They just aren't going to give him millions of dollars because he's kneeling. Any team is free to sign him (but they won't).
