Secretary of State Tillerson out amid clashes with Trump, to be replaced by CIA Director Pompeo

He was appointed as a gesture to Putin. The Russians are desperate to have the deal Tillerson made with Rosneft to upgrade their Siberian gas fields. The Russians need to sell oil because they have serious balance of payment issues. Tillerson was a signal to Moscow that the Trump policy toward Russia was going to be one of appeasement, as it has been.

None the less, Tillerson was one of the few real adults in the Trump Administration. He was a real CEO, and had been used to dealing with world leaders and running a real global enterprise. I doubt that he had much use for an idiot like Trump.,

The President must have confidence in his Secretary of State, the nature of the position requires this. Trump and Tillerson disagreed on some things, most notably the deal with Iran. This deal is a very important expression of foreign policy something else might be tolerable, but to so fundamentally disagree on something as important as the deal with Iran is a serious problem. Trump wants to undo that deal, he needs his Secretary of State to work with him on this, to help him find justification, to get allies behind Trump's goal, to support the application of the President's policy. Tillerson may disagree, he may strongly believe the deal with Iran was good, that it should be upheld, that it offers advantages and is good for US allies, nonetheless it is the President's foreign policy which he must advance and if that means voiding the deal with Iran, this is what the Secretary of State must do, if he won't, he's go to go.

Those US soldiers were invaders, Jest. They were there to make war, but were outraged that the locals fight back (???).
