    "The law still protects social media companies like
    @Twitter
    because they are considered forums not publishers. But if they have now decided to exercise an editorial role like a publisher then they should no longer be shielded from liability & treated as publishers under the law."

    Interesting view, he says Twitter is no longer just a conduit for it's users opinions, with the ridiculous 'fact checking' of Trump (done by a biased CNN hack, funny they never fact checked their Collusion Delusion lies for years), they are now issuing content and taking sides, making them a publisher and fair game for defamation lawsuits. Note there was no Twitter fact checking of Adam Schiff's lies or of any other Democrat. Let the lawsuits begin!

    I'm going to tweet that you have horrible opinions, get your lawsuit ready.

    Do you need the relevant Supreme Court cases regarding message boards? You can send high heels Rubio and review.

    We're not talking about message boards, but about one sided politically biased actions by Twitter.

    Rubio is WRONG.

    Sounds like a case for the Supreme Court.

    Also, there is a difference between someone tweeting a legit "opinion" and someone tweeting that "1+1=3" .

    And CNN gets to be the 'fact checker' and decide what is legitimate? The same clowns who lied about the Russia hoax for years?

    :roflol::roflol::roflol:

    As Rubio says, they are exercising an editorial role, which is what publishers do.

    Democrats want speech cops patrolling the internet, censoring postings Democrats don't like.

    It's okay to say 1+1=3 or the earth is flat

    The point is, Twitter taking an active role in 'factchecking' anybody is not in twitter's purview, or even in its interest. Can you imagine if moderators 'fact-checked' each and every post of ours? And based on who's "facts"? Fact-checking has become more of an industry unto itself, rather than the discovery of truth.

    Do you think if I accuse you of murder the moderators will have anything to say? Does that make PF a publisher?

    Maybe the moderators should fact check some of the nonsense posted in these forums.

    They aren't editing, or altering, Trump's tweets in any way, so they aren't exercising an "editorial role".

    They are exercising common sense.

    Not really, the point is that the individuals posting on twitter(or on here) would be the publishers, all twitter/PF is are the hosts. And if you did accuse me of murder, I would reply that the accusation is baseless and there isn't even a body. Hell, there isn't even a weapon or a motive lol.

    Or I could choose to ignore it and not respond, but that would leave it lingering lol. But in no uncertain terms, I've never committed a crime in my life.

    No, I'm saying there's basic laws/expectations already on the books. The idea that our posts/opinions could be subject to editing or altering by another person violates the premise of free speech if not the principle.

    What about private companies that achieve utility status? Should the phone companies be allowed to take sides and screen your calls?

    I suppose it is a wise business move considering the eagerness for such content.

    The trouble is social media is longer a free market of ideas. They are censoring content based on politics rather than on facts.

    I hear Candace Owens is suing Facebook.
